How do you deal with bugs and other road carnage?

It's big, overspecd, can't be powered by my 2000 watt genni. I want to replace it with a Coleman Mach 8 Plus - Cub. It will run on my genni and will put out 9200 BTU which should cool the 11fK just fine. It is also much lower profile for aerodynamics and tree clearance.
Has anyone done such a project?

Yeah ours started squeaking, then the darn thing busted off,, water everywhere. Cheap stuff they use to fit travel trailers. I replaced it with a Moen Muirfield setup,, awesome and will not squeak or break.

Well after much pondering  I came up with a way to add removable stabilizers. Cost about 20$ in steel and a few welding rods. Works like a champ.

How difficult was the demo of the oem countertop?

Has anyone fabbed a way to make the stabilizers removable? I have dragged the rear ones a couple of times on rough dirt roads and want to make them stowable until needed.

I ordered the Dexter 2 5/8" lift kit but noticed they had a disclaimer that it couldn't be used with axles with the 3" high bracket (mine and the op's seem to have the high profile bracket).  I'm not sure if it really matters structurally, or if they are just covering themselves.

Yeah I was told by Dexter not to use a lift on the #10 32 degree axel, may cause the frame mounts to fail.

Has anyone swapped out the push button on / off switch for a variable speed controller on the vent fan? Any suggestion on what controller to get?

Good advice, did the trick. AC works like a champ when following these instructions.

Thanks for the tips guys. I never hear the compressor kick in, just the fan. I am plugged in at home although it is a 20 amp circuit (110) . I don't think I let it run 10 minutes though, I will try again and time it.

Well I am getting ready for a trip and decide to fire up the AC (13.5k BTU model) while I load the camper and all it puts out is really hot air. Played with the different vents, tried high and low settings, and turned is off and on several times, no help. It will be next week before I can call LL support so I though I would check with the forum brain trust first.

Any tips?

The axle finally arrived from LL, a new 32 degree down version. It was easy to install and definitely resolved any clearance issues and gave me the height I wanted when buy the Off Road option. They also sent me new wheel well liners to replaced the damaged one. Good customer support over all. A trip to Moab put it to the test and all is well.

It's true that it's not easy but I found that if you have a three step ladder it's easier. Depending on the weight of your bike it can be hard if it's on the heavy side. Mines are quite heavy so it was a bit of a challenge but it was the best solution for me at the time to carry them on the roof.

It's not that,, it's that I would drive it right into the garage or whatever forgetting that there are bikes on top. Would get expensive fast.

Yea I need to come up with a really good solution. Was scoping it out yesterday and may just weld a bunch of gussets and frame brackets then add another 2x4 to the bumper itself. We have some pretty pricey bikes and I don't want to see them fading away in the rear view mirror.
