Hi from Mpls: looking at quicksilver 6.0

Hi all,

This looks like a fun forum. I don't own one yet, but narrowly missed a 5.0 on Craigslist, so now I'm hooked on the idea. There are a few new 6.0s at dealerships about five hours east of here, so I'm considering making the drive.....

I'm pretty focused on fast setup, easy to tow, and no rot. I might be overlooking how cramped we would feel. It's me, my wife, and our two boys aged 7 and 9. Oh, and a 60 lb black lab boxer rottie your choice mix. We live in a small house, one bathroom, and have all tent camped together in a single tent, so there's a little bit about our tolerances. While camping we would probably be out and about but want a nice place to sleep. Tow vehicle is a 2014 Subaru crosstrek.

Anyway, thanks for reading and if you have any thoughts on my situation, please post them! And, if you've got a 6.0 near Minneapolis I could check out, just to see how it actually looks, I'd really be grateful.

The 6.0 would be a tight fit for all of you, look at the 8.0. I would go to a dealer and have one set up and then put everyone, (dog too) and see how you like it, In my opinion, the 6.0 is at best a three person rig, I'm 6'1" and the J-sofa was too small for me to sleep on, but would be fine for a kid.

Good to have you on the forum!  Sounds like fun camping coming up. If you can tent camp with that crew, a QS may seem like luxury, at least until the kids get older!  I like pjcd's suggestion to go get in one somewhere. That could help figure out the Tetris of fitting everyone in. Keep the camper as small as possible. That Crosstrek 2.0 engine will be working hard with 4 people, a dog, camping gear, and a trailer in tow. I'm looking forward to your adventure reports!

As a former owner of a 6.0 this camper will be too smaller for your family. Those children will not be getting smaller and our 40 pound dog fit the table bed. Go for 8.0 and you will be right sized for your family. Happy Camping ⛺️!
