2018 models and QC

Hello all, been looking at the camplites  and reading all i can about them and had a few questions.
When should the 18 models be out and do you think any of the Quality/Reliability issues will be worked out.

Can't help you with new model information.

I think the quality problems is an evolution that every manufacturer goes through. LL went through more turmoil in shifting from a boutique manufacturer to a member of a huge RV organization.

The aluminum roof is gone for good, as well as twin axles on the 16s. I havent paid much attention to the cabinet evolution and maybe you can get the original Azdel, aluminum or wood finish design now. The break away battery is gone and that is probably good.

General build quality probably isn't going to get any better but also not get any worse.

I concur with DavidM. I think the LL brand manufacturing has been subsumed into the mega-RV companies and will end up with the same overall QC as everyone else. And of course they all use the same brand/type of components. If you've perused other sites and brands you'll know that overall, the RV industry has a very low (I wanted to use the word dismal) record on QC compared to many other major purchases we make, such as cars and trucks. Keep your expectations low and spend the time needed to find a really good dealer. You'll be needing them to help you through the first few months of ownership and to handle warranty repairs. That said, pretty much everyone makes it through those teething pains and ends up really enjoying camping with their trailer. Enjoy the search!

I have no idea when the '18s will be out. Back in 2014, the next model year (2015) was released in the summer (by July), but I don't know if that still holds.

Unlike car manufacturers they don't wait to change things until the next model year. Late 2017 models should be identical to 2018 models. Most changes are incremental and happen continuously through the year. This also means that an early 2017 model and a late 2017 model could also be different.

You are right my early 2015 has the same feature as most 2014 and there was some change in late 2015 that I don't have like the vinyl floor

Hi tinkeringtechie - I think you are better off without the vinyl floor. Slap down some foam interlocking tiles, and you know what you have to deal with. At some point, my vinyl floor will wear out, and I am not sure what it's going to take to get rid of it. At that time, I will put down those lovely, impact-absorbing foam tiles. They also help insulate from the cold floor.

Thanks,I will be headed to my closest dealer this weekend (Amazing Rv's) in Houston TX.I looked on their site at the 21BHS model and it shows to have leaf springs on the Axles ,I though all LL models came with Torsion Axles.

At least some models now come with leaf springs. I have not been on the web site to look at specs for a while, but recent purchasers have reported leaf springs.

We just got our 21BHS last week and it is a 2018 (I know it seems way to early).  It has the 3k dexter axles but there is also leaf springs on them.  I'm not at all familiar with the axles so not sure if this is good or bad...

The frame is 2x5 though which is better according to CharlieM.  Overall quality is "good".  Everything is working fine and 2 of my neighbors looked it over pretty good thought it was very well built and designed (they both own much larger TTs).

There are couple of things that were sloppily put together, the light over the queen bed is way off-center and a piece of trim in the bathroom isn't stuck on exactly right but that's about it.  We did have some water leak around one of the wheel wells but I found that there had been sealant there it just cracked so I refilled it with some flex-seal.

I just place an order for a Quicksilver 8.5x28 FBA. I have verified that it will be a 2018 model with a delivery date on or before May 15. Once I take ownership I will report back with any QC issues that I find.
