We had the privilege to take a look inside of one while camping in SC. It's a very nice camper and well though out. The couple was from Canada. Looked like it would be efficient to tow, also!

The only Canadian built trailer I've seen in a campground was a way far out teardrop with bubble windows and an aluminum skin that the dude said he built hisself (do they call themselves "dude" up in Canadia " I'm trying to work on my cultural sensitivity.)

Not that I'm unhappy with my CL14DBS, but Mrs. P has a very narrow viewpoint about me taking it on fishing or hunting trips without her (which is the whole point of going hunting and fishing, but I digress). So I've been pondering on a VERY basic teardrop that she won't notice if I park it all the way down by the barn and behind the burn pile. Still have to find a place to store it for a few weeks in the spring after I burn the pile of branches and leaves, but I know a guy...

Point is....um....I'm not really into the whole "build your own teardrop" thing. I'd rather let some other poor sap build it, then his transmission falls out from under his car and he needs a quick $2100...

Anyway, this fella built it hisself and it had all these extra swoopdie-doopdie fins on the top and sides, with different size holes cut into them in descending order (or ascending if you count them in the other direction) and the aforementioned plastic bubble windows like those old gumball machines but cut in half so you'd have a window on each side from just one gumball machine and then everthing but the windows was either aluminimum or painted silver like Lost In Space so I thought "do they even have any other color of spray paint besides silver in Canadia ?" and maybe that's why the place is so darned clean and no graffiti or nothin' which kinda makes sense.

Anyway, I'd be willing to part with about $1200 that I got that she doesn't know about on this special purpose and it was kinda like the pictured trailer, only smaller, with less colors, and the fins and all. Was about 8' long.

We saw one at the Grand Canyon this summer and really liked it.  As you said, well thought out on the interior and especially liked the bike rack on the front of the trailer.  Although at almost $37,000 it is a little out of my price range.

I see those trailer often in Canada they are really nice, they also make class B rv in chevrolet van I think

Man, other than the price, those things have it ALL OVER something like an A-Liner. We never gave but momentary consideration to popups because it is so wet where we live, and being too lazy to get home and set the thing up to dry (which if we're rained on when we're camping and heading home, we're gonna be getting rained on when we get back). We did have the A-Liners in mind when we found the CL, with a slideout and 2 axles, and were sold.

But I love the interior design. No shower of course, but at least the crapper isn't a cassette.

Says the aluminum frame is weldless, so no worries about cracked welds. That's kinda scary, as nuts can work loose and things start to squeak.

The price thing looks HUGE. $35,991 CAD. Dunno what the exchange rate is, but I do see that the US patent is 7,488,030, while the Canadian patent is only 2,580,172. On that basis these start at just a little over 12 grand.

I own this very model. The Alto 1713 by Safari Condo are exceptionally well made and function superbly. I live in Minnesota, and the number of US based Alto owners is growing rapidly. feel free to ask me any questions about it.

We regularly see one of those at a state park where we camp every spring. When we go over there this year, if it's around, I'll let the owner know about this forum and ask if I can peak inside sometime.

What's the material between the base and the part that raises up?

And by the way, that part about "exceptionally well made" is a real rare statement in an RV forum.

I believe you are referring to the windows. That's tempered glass with a dark tint on it. When the roof is raised, it forms a large, end to end crescent window. It's what rally sells the Alto for most people. When your are inside, you feel like you're sitting outside. And yes, the craftsmanship is highly unheard of for RVs. It's not just good by RV standards, it's solid by any standard. Another niece aspect is there is no wood or materials that can rot. The entire structure is aluminum sheets, sandwich a plastic honeycomb materials. The frame is all welded metal. Yet, it's only around 1700 lbs. that includes all the glass too.

This camper has caught my eye as well.  Well-built, easy to tow, good design, and looks like it could fit in a standard-sized garage with no problem.

Thanks for posting this. Neat little trailer, but I agree with the video that I could not see myself fulltime in it. Too small. That is why we went to Camplite from our Casita - more room. I think it is pricey at 27k for its size. I do like the idea though!
