ok so i found a 2015 QS 8.0 at a dealer not all that far from me.    i looked at it today and have a few questions on what a good price for it would be...

its a basic 8.0 with a/c and an awning.,  i believe thats the only options it has...

it is raining out today so that was good..  there were no leaks.  the int looked decent.  needed some cleaning is all...

we noticed that there were a few snaps torn out of the canvass.   the table that clips on the outside was kinda busted up and missing the bottom support..  a couple of scuffs on the side under where the table would clip on and one dent in the rear panel above and centered between the tail lights.   not a huge dent or anything that is structural.  just cosmetic.   other then that it seemed ok...

it also had two Fan / Light units..   are they a standard thing or optional?

so the dealer says they will fix the snaps/canvass on the front and back of it and replace the outside table and support plus clean it up..

they will let it go for $6400 out the door (original price was 7400 and change out the door with nothing repaired)..  thats the trailer, the canvass fixed, the table replaced, set up fee (they go over the entire thing and make sure everything is working and things like that and demo it for me), tax, tags and doc fees..

is this a decent price?    is there anything else i need to look for?

down the road if i needed new canvass what does it cost for new canvass and where would you buy it?

do that make mattress covers for the stock mattresses?

i have two little Honda EU2000i 2000W Generators with a parallel kit that allows me to plug a 30amp rv style plug into it..  will they be enough to run the a/c?

thanks in advance for the help...

I can't help you with valuation, but I can answer your question about the Honda. In most likelihood, one Honda EU2000 will run your A/C. Two in companion mode certainly will. You might check the power requirements of your A/C. If it draws 13 amps or less, a single Honda will work ok because that i the maximum continuous output of one generator. Otherwise, use two.

I bought a 2015 QS 8.0 a few months back from Craigslist for $6500.  It has AC, the awning, room divider/curtains on the inside, and an extended rear deck.  It was in almost new condition.  This was the best price that I could fine for this model.  Your price seems good especially considering the small repairs that will be done.  I had previously owned a QS 6.0 and I like the added space- and the AC.

Here is what the NADA guide shows for value for the Quicksilver 8.0.  The snap situation is a fairly simple repair that you could do yourself, just need the snaps and a snap setting tool (Amazon).  The fan/light package was at one time an option but it is shown on the Livinlite website as standard equipment now.  You will notice that the awning is not shown on the NADA screenshot, that is because they don't list just an awning. It seems to be a good price for the trailer - you should go for it.  Enjoy!

thanks for the information guys..   it sounded like a decent deal..  i just wasn't sure because i don't see them for sale in the area for some reason..

originally it broke down as follows:

$5995 for trailer (nothing repaired)
$460 tax
$595 set up fee (this is where they go over everything and makes sure it works and is safe, clean it and demo it for me.)  i think its pricey but i guess for piece of mind it will be a good thing..
$225 for doc fees (paperwork)
$110 for the tags/registration..

total $7385..

after talking a bit and the "closer" came out he said he would fix the snaps/canvas and the table and let it go out the door with all listed above for $6400...

Good deal-- enjoy.  Double check with your state DMV, though, since some states do not require registration for pop ups.  That is the case in TN where I live now- it's an option, but not required.

nj wants every dime they can get from ya..   needs to be registered here.

The price sounds decent. With negotiation it might be able to go lower, but the real problem is supply. If you're in a place without competition then the deal is excellent.

that is the negotiated price...    the closest place that sells new is 2 hours away in md..    called them today and they said they barley ever get used ones in..

i did find a 2010 8.0 with a/c thats about 1.5 hours away..  any known problems with a 2010?

i guess i should ask if there is any known problems with a 2015 too...?

i'm going to look at a 2010 on friday..    formal rental..   hopefully the body is in decent shape..  has 1yr old canvass and cover on it and the mattresses were replaced a little over a year ago...  no awning on this one but it does have the privacy shades inside and a/c.. i figure its worth a look..  looks to be in godd shape by the pictures but we all know how that goes..lol

was looking at a new one also but the wife doesn't want to spend that much money on one at this time because she is afraid if we don't use it and have to sell we would be stuck with it or take a big loss..   she figures if we can get into one on the cheaper side that we are better off..  i agree with her on that.  i think once we get one and start using it we will have a lot of fun with  it..

whenever i pull the trigger on one i'll be sure to post up some pics..   then a million questions about everything from caring for it to what necessities i'll be needing..
