I have a Honda EU2200i generator.  I'm concerned about it walking off when I'm away from the campsite.  I've seen "Theft Deterrent" covers for the handle, which discourages someone from sawing through the handle. Honda may have their own version, but I cannot find a link for it.  Has anyone used these?  Do they recommend them?  I understand now why they make them with a camouflage pattern!

Lots of places carry the Honda brand and it looks like it fits both the 2000 and 2200.

Another theft deterrent is to spray paint it with an ugly combination of colors and patterns. Thieves are looking make a quick buck on eBay/craigslist/facebook and they are likely to leave an ugly painted one alone.

I have the 1000 for light duty use and my theft deterrent is to never leave it outside when I'm not with it.

Thanks for the part number... I just ordered one.

The idea of making it less appealing is interesting, but... I just tuned it up (including clearing out the carburetor jets) and thought that it looked like new!  It would be a shame to make it look ugly.  Of course, if it gets stolen I'll likely think otherwise.

When I'm not using it, I keep it stored in a ugly old beer cooler with a braided steel cable running out the side... the generator barely fits if you rip the insulation out.

The ugly old beer cooler is perfect! Great theft deterrent.

I bought the product on Amazon.  Since I needed it soon, I decided to buy a "non-Honda" product.

I had to put it on backwards!  The instructions say to put "the wide end of the bracket toward the gas cap (with the shorter tab).  The rub is that the wider end of the bracket has the longer tab.  I was able to get it on, but the rear portion of the handle is not a protected as it could be.

I felt like I was on Candid Camera.  I left a review on the website.
