Well....we ALMOST bought an Airstream, but instead, traveled north (our second 1000+ mile trip since Oct) for another LL. Here's the trip!

PS....we'll be selling the 2013 16tbs.

I hope the 21 serves you well. I don't want to hear the fried chicken story!

Also, check to make sure that 21 was not part of the recall for broken welds. I don't remember the details or what years were included, but some needed an extra gusset or frame piece welded in the area where the frame meets the A frame up front.

Edit:  I looked up the recall and it covers '17-'19. However, posts by others clearly indicate the problem showed up prior to '17. If I were you, I'd get under the camper and closely inspect all visible welds in the areas indicated in these posts.

Also the Newsletter section of this forum has an excellent article (written by you know who) that discusses the frame weld problem and also the recall.

I believe any LL camper could have frame weld cracks. You know the story of how Monday morning cars are built, right? It could happen on any LL. The welder just has to get a little sloppy (or maybe incompetent under Thor's watch) and after a while they start to crack.

So check out your new 21 for weld issues as Merlin recommends.

thanks guys. I did check the welds, they seem ok, but hell....what do i know!

There's an old thread that describes exactly my problem (http://archive.aluminiumcamperforum.com/index.php?topic=2377.15), and Id hate to have to get new axles, but Im still looking into options at the moment.

A good visual inspection of the welds is fine and good job doing that.

I still can't believe you'd need new axles to fit the OEM size tires? Very strange. What size tires are listed on the trailer frame placard?

Im having a hard time with it as well, lol.

placard says ST205/75D14. Cold PSI 50. (I have to double check, but I think they're sitting at 53PSI at the moment)
Tires put on are Carlisle Radial Trail HD 205/75R-14
