Just returned from boondocking after realizing we had lost all fresh water. Unable to completely shut off spigot. Can it be replaced?

On my tank, the spigot is replaceable. A new one just screws into the tank fitting. It's an extremely tight fit behind the low point drain valves for the water system. Those might need to be removed first? Maybe the spigot just needs tightening?

If it's the fitting in the tank that's leaking, your SOL on an easy fix. Might be new tank time?

Thanks.  Ordered the standard Camco spigot to replace existing leaking valve. I cleaned and drained the tank earlier and forgot to close it, so running to the boondock site probably picked up grit which in turn fouled the spigot. Another boondoggle.  :P

If that is the case, try opening and closing a dozen times while water runs out. Sometimes you can flush out the grit and the open and close sort of laps the plastic back into shape.

Worth a try.

Will do and let you all know the results. Lessons learned. :-\

Camco replacement.  Easy peasy, and done. Thanks

On a related note, we have our city water supply hooked up at the RV resort we're staying at.  It is leaking however from the water tank filler spigot which tells me the city water is continuing to force its way into the tank and the pressure is causing the spigot leak.  I can't find a valve in our unit that prevents the water tank from filling when hooked up to city water.  What am I missing?

There is no valve to isolate the FW tank. The problem is the check valve in the water pump is faulty and is allowing city water to back fill the tank. Sometimes cycling the pump will clear dirt or particles and allow the valve to seat. If not the valve needs replacing. It's not difficult or expensive but there's no other fix. Until you can fix the pump your options are:

Live with the  leak or

Use the FW tank and pump for your water supply and refill it periodically, turning off city water in between fills.

I replaced the Shurflo in-line check valve and that fixed the problem.  10 minute job.
