Storage under bed

Has anyone modified the under bed storage to a cabinet so you don't have to lift the bed to get to stored items? Hard to lift and always need something i forgot when everyone is sleeping.

I cant help you with he people sleeping, but I upgraded the gas struts with a set from princess auto (harbor freight). Just popped mine off, went into the store, and found one with more power.
