Weight Discrepancy 13QBB

So, the capacity is FAR greater than a regular 13. Catalog specs list cargo max at 650, GVW 3000 (as Paul pointed out), but ours has a max of nearly 1700 lbs! GVW of 4675. What a huge difference. We will never even come close to carrying that much, in fact, we'll be carrying lass than the spec 650 lbs.

Wow that is a really good news! I am always concerned that I can exceed the 650lbs that doesn't take much to exceed it! I never brought my trailer to a scale so I have no clue but I should check that!

Something I'm wondering and this reminded me....with the Dexter 4400 lb axle and GVW 4675 lbs in this case and in the case of our 16 TBS the label says GVW 4800 lbs. How is it that the GVW can be higher than the axle rating? Is it because of the weight carried by the tongue? Or something else? TIA!

Yes, Thor/LL has included an assumed tongue weight in the GVWR. This is iffy because it assumes precise loading. Also any WDH will transfer additional weight the the trailer axle. Max ratings are max ratings under carefully controlled conditions. Best to stay comfortably under the max ratings.
