One of the new pictures of the 16 CL21RBS I'm picking up was of the exterior slide storage.  It looks very shallow.  I have not been able to find any pics on the net of anyone using it for anything.

Does anyone know how deep it is, or have any examples of what folks store in there?  Minimally I'm guessing I could install hangers for electrical stuff.  Not sure if it is deep enough for a fresh water hose.

If it's on the same side as the entry door, it could be for a flat screen TV for outside use.

The slide storage comes on the 21RBS with the dinette option. It is 7" deep to the aluminum studs. I use it to store lots of small things like a folding table, folding camp stools, Coleman grill, camp lantern, extension cord, etc. Very handy. It also provides the interior shelf by the dinette table under the window.
Any 20 minute job can be stretched to a week with proper planning

There are magnetic catches that hold it open. It's a very useful storage area and we use it store many things, such as a tool box, socket set, the electrical cord for camper, electrical adapters, our water hose, water filter, rope, extra electrical cord for awning lights, sanitizing wipes (to use after emptying the tanks), chocks, bottle jack, etc. The newer models don't have that compartment anymore, but I'm glad that our 2015 does. It's very helpful to have. I think they stopped including that outside storage cabinet sometime in the 2016 models.

Thanks for the info!  Helpful to know that it is 7" deep - which will make it useful.

BTW, it's not only on the dinette model, since this one has the jack-knife sofa.  This one was manufactured sometime in 15 since the original dealer pics were from Jan 16.

Great to hear that it will hold much of the setup stuff.

We pick it up next week.

thanks!

I have the sofa model.  I do not believe mine is 7" deep.  I keep my power cord, outside shower hose and awning pulling rod.  Not a lot of room in there.

I have a late 2015 21RBS (wood cabinet doors) and the wife and I really like it.  I only live 2 hours from the factory and have taken the camper to them to have a couple things done.  They were really great to work with.  The clowns at the dealership will not touch my camper.

Two TV trays fit nicely behind the sofa inside the camper.  We keep the table outside under the awning.  Buy a couple cell phone magnets to hold your overhead cabinet doors open, the two above the bed.

I have pulled the little camper over 7000 miles and 10 states.  Good luck with your new rig.

PS. I pull with a 93 Cummins diesel.  I really like 15+ MPG at 60-62 MPH.

Trying to picture how the cell magnets would work, any pictures? Thanks

Found a thread - I assume this is what you were referring to: https://aluminumcamperforum.com/index.php?topic=674.0

current flavor on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Pop-Tech-Universal-Magnetic-Dashboard-Smartphone/dp/B00RBBT9SA/

thanks!

ps: I like the coffee table idea behind the coach as well... do you use the traditional tin tray type tables or one of the different versions that are out there these days... was looking at something like this https://www.amazon.com/Table-Mate-Folding-Tray-Black/dp/B01M1C2LU7 which supposedly is 2.5"

Those are the magnets we use.  I think the ones we used are the brown or black.  They come in very handy.

The TV trays we use are a nice set of dark oak.  The large table that comes with the camper is always in the way.  Pulling a set of TV trays out just for meals keeps the floor open during the day (if the table is outside under the awning).

I sold an Airstream 22FB to get the Camp Lite.  A lot more room in the 21RBS.

I store 4 camp chairs and one of those roll-a-tables in there, it is surprisingly roomy despite the relatively shallow depth.

The slide storage was one of the first things thor removed so they could have more money in their pockets, apparently they didn't care that it is a very useful feature for the people who buy the camper.

Now that I've picked it up, I love that slide storage in 16 21RBS.  I have the sofa and it is only a few inches deep, but it is perfect for 30A cord, extension cord, and all electrical accessories.

AND it makes an awesome narrow shelf behind the sofa that is perfect for a coffee cup, cell phone, etc.  Love it.

I keep all my hoses, chocks, spare 20' sewer hose, water filter with stand and anything else I use to set-up the camper once we arrive at our site.
