Hi All,

Does anyone happen to have a list of the power usage for the various appliances/devices in our travel trailers?  For example-

I've gleaned this information from various posts-

Furnace: 3.5 amps/hr
Water pump: 1.6 to 1.8 amps/hr
Fantastic fan: 1.15/1.6/2.0 amps/hr (three speeds)
Carbon monoxide 108ma
Interior lights (per light): ??
Radio (Drive model): ??
Awning LED Strip; ??
Stove vent:??

Also, does using the power tongue jack or slide-out on battery really drain the battery quickly?  I seem to unhook power from the TV before putting the slide out and getting front to back level...

We do almost 100% dry camping so trying to get an idea on how many amps we need each day.

I plan on checking those devices for current draw when we take our CL TBS16 out for a shakedown overnight in a week or so. I have an accurate clamp on DC ammeter that I will clamp on the battery pos wire and turn on and off various items. Stay tuned.

But more importantly is how many amp hours a camper uses in 24 hours. This of course is dependent on what and how long each item is on. I don't have a good way of measuring total amp hours used. On a previous camper I had a battery monitor that integrates amps and time to give running amp hours used. But I haven't bother with one on this camper as they are about $200.

My guess is that we use 10-15 amp hours in 24 hours- no furnace, fan, limited lights, no fridge frame heater. The slide motor is a fairly high current item- 5-10 amps I will bet. But only for ten seconds so very little amp hours used.

From my measurements the Fantastic Fans will typically draw only 1/2 their rated current. Low to medium speeds will run a long time with little battery consumption. The water pump can draw as much as 6.8 Amps depending on pressure but it usually runs for only a short time and you're probably not using that much water if you're boondocking. The LED light fixtures are real misers so no worry there; probably around 0.1A per or less. Don't know about stove vent or awning lights since I don't have them. The fridge control valve and gas control valve draw about an Amp as I recall but only when the the fridge is actually cooling. The big hog is the fridge frame heater if you have one and haven't disabled it yet. The biggest contributor to overall AH usage is the furnace blower if it's cold.
Any 20 minute job can be stretched to a week with proper planning

Thanks Charlie.  I already disabled the frame heater.
