As a new member / owner of my first Camplite 14DBS...it is some what dis heartening to see members with a ton of knowledge selling and leaving the community.

I saw Mitch sold his unit,  ersatzknarf sold theirs, Pinstriper is selling his...mojopeoples are selling theirs..I hope there will still be a forum here.

There's still plenty of us here.  Have been camping in our 21BHS since 2013 with no plans on selling.  People buy in different stages of life and than their needs change.  I bought with retirement in mind which is approaching next year, so we are set.

I came to TTs late in life after a lifetime of tenting it. This was by choice--I didn't want to be one of those old RVers with long line-ups behind them. That was until I discovered I somehow had gotten old and the remarkable feeling it can be to sleep off the ground and not get wet. So we bought the modestly sized 14DB, pimped it out with most of the luxuries of life. We still believe it can satisfy our needs for the rest of our journey here below..whilst always keeping up with traffic flow! GK

We may end up in a 21bhs now that we can be serious shoppers. If not I will still drop in from time to time to let people know they need a bigger tow vehicle.

I would expect no less. Of course if you go with the 21, you'll need to get a F450 with the 6.7L oil burner.  ;)

As a matter of fact I just this afternoon purchased a new F -150 with the turbo and max payload, max towing package.

An F-150 rated to tow....wait for it....11,900#, and payload of 2,100#.

This thing is a beast.

That's incredible!  I can obviously stop worrying about you now. Makes me want to go check out an F150.

We are still here and plan an aggressive camping schedule once school starts and the public campground reservations ease up. We got blocked out of August by waiting too late. All of the good, waterfront sites for the campgrounds we normally go to are fully booked now. September should be better.

We still are seriously considering selling our 16TBS in the fall after the camping season is over in NE and will probably buy a motorhome then. I hope pricing eases up in the late fall/winter as it is very strong now and well priced RVs don't stay on the market long. But the same is true about our Florida condo that we expect to close the sale in a few weeks so maybe it all works out.

But I will hang around. I love LLs and the membership here.

Pinstriper ,

We bought our 2018 F150 Platinum "Oilburner" on 03JUL2020 with 15,000 miles on it. It has the 4x4 Crew Cab with an 11,300lb tow rating. We then drove the pick up to pick up the CL 14DBS on 01AUG2020. On the 830 mile drive out the avg. fuel mpg = 29.8. After hooking up and towing we averaged  16.9 on the way back.

We upgraded our tow vehicle in preparation for the new trailer.

If I could find a 2014-2015 CL 21BHS in good condition in driving range, I would be real interested. As it is, we are expecting to be 4,000# dry, maybe closer to 5,000.

Tow rating 11,900#. Swear to Mo.

That is one nice truck.....

Looks like I will  have to hang around a few more years ...pay my dues in the 14DBS and then the student may follow the teacher into a larger LL.

We could only afford the truck after selling the RV!
