Anyone have the specs on the microwave oven that LL installs in the 2018 16's?

I've had trouble running some on smaller generators, especially ovens in the 1000W and up rating.

My Yamaha 2400 watt generator was doing a fine job but it was destroyed last week in an auto accident, so-
I'm shopping for a replacement.   Thinking of going with the Honda 2000's and if I do I will buy a pair for summertime AC use but would really like to carry only one at other times.
However if a 2000 won't start and run the microwave I'll just buy another Yamaha 2400.

Ran across a pretty good deal on the Honda's that ends today so a quick decision is important!

Thanks- but the question wasn't what generators would run the microwave but will the Honda 2000 run the specific microwave LL uses ;)

I already have a Honda EU3000IS  which is pretty much the premier generator out there- but the dang thing weighs 140 or so lbs and I can't pick it up by myself :-\

Our Honda 2000is would run everything in our 21BHS except the air conditioner, to include the microwave.

Off topic, but we bought a Champion 2800 and it runs the AC just fine.

Further off topic, plugged into a solid 20A outlet, running the air and microwave simultaneously will occasionally trip the breaker. We put a sticker on the microwave reminding us "AC - OFF".

Cool!   Thanks.

We once had a travel trailer that had a switch on the ceiling between the microwave and the air conditioner.
It was to select which one to run- couldn't run both even on 30 amp service! ;D

The rated input power of the High Pointe microwave in our camper is 1500 Watts. The Honda 2000 has a continuous use rating of 1600 watts, so it would work, but not much else could be on.

My Honda 2000Eu runs everything in my camper, including my window unit A/C.  I have one of the last 16DB's with that option rather than the roof top A/C.  So to your question, yes, I run my microwave that is factory installed with no problem on my Honda EU.  And, btw, I LOVE that genny..  Super quiet, and I have the optional extended run gas cap with hose to an external tank, so it will run for days without filling if needed.

I have it setup at my house for "hurricanes"  I have five, 5 gallon gas cans always full, sitting in my workshop, so 25 gallons of gas can run my house fridge and put power to my camplite for easily 10-15 days.
My wife and I just move into our camper when power goes out, and keep the house fridge cold as well.  Last two hurricanes we were powerless for 3 days, and the one in 2016 was about 5 days.  At least with the last one (Matthew I think) I got 16 grand in insurance money.  With Floyd (2016) I had over 30 huge oaks blow down, but not hit anything so NO money, I had to clear all that myself.  Since that storm, I lost about 8 acres of grazing wood land for my goats.  Now they are limited to grazing only in the main pastures.
My house is for sale if anyone is interested..   4 bedrooms, 16 acres, 229K.  all livestock included if you want it.  Herd of goats. Some donkeys and pig too.  I'll even throw in some yard dogs since there are about 6 or so running around there

Little microwave story- I have a microwave that draws a measured 750 watts.
My 1000W pure sine inverter will not start it.
My 2000W Kipor inverter generator won't start it either.
I'm sure either one would run it fine IF the startup surge didn't trip their protection circuitry.

Point is just because an appliance is under what the generator or inverter can put out doesn't mean it can start it.

BTW my el cheapo HarborFreight 2000W inverter will start and run the microwave.   However being MSW it takes about 50%+ longer to warm stuff up.

Update- picked up 2 ea Honda 2000's.   One will start and run the A/C or the microwave.   Of course that is in cool weather at 300' AMSL.

Here is the kick in the nuts- a week after I buy 2 of the 2000's,  Honda announced they are coming out with a 2200, same size, close to same weight and cost but 3dB louder...

I just can't win! :-\  Not cool about the 3dB louder though...
