Wife and I took the Quicksilver 10 out for three days. This is typically a tough campground to get a spot, especially the ones right on the ocean. The summer? forget it!

But right after new years in winter, during the week is easier. And my wife picked out the spot months ago. Nothing between us and the Pacific ocean. Thirty feet from waves rolling up... First night we had a great sunset. I cooked chicken, rice, salad and some cheap mini wine! It was about 45 degrees at night. No hook ups on those ocean spots. So, I brought along my Mr Buddy portable Buddy propane heater. I should have broke it in a bit more because it did give off a subtle new burning-in smell but it ran for 6 hours and easily kept the trailer warm, almost too warm, on low.

I had charged the battery so we had the 12v lights and fans the whole time.

One thing that's bothersome is closing down the tent part right on top of the mattresses if it's wet. We had purchased a memory foam 4" mattress that I didn't want to ruin. I suppose I'll look into a waterproof cover.

The next day it drizzled rain all day. Oh well. We didn't bring the EZ up and I'm not fond of the stock awning so I drank my coffee while watching the ocean under umbrella.

Bathrooms were cold, drafty, and sort of 1970s-ish but kept clean enough.

It was a nice three Daycation  ;D

Thank you for the report! I like hearing about people camping while I wait for the snow to go away here in Canada! Can't wait to start the season in May!

Ditto what Paul wrote. I have to get my camping vicariously this time of year and it's especially great to hear about ocean-front camping (even if it was 45 degrees and drizzling!)

catmanriff,  Appreciate the report!

Sounds like a fine place to camp. Always nice to get in a January three day Daycation!
