Hello All, So happy to announce that we picked up our new (to us) 2017 21rbs Saturday.  Sold our Quicksilver 8.0 one tear ago & set our sights on a 21rbs after getting our 2020 Honda Ridgeline.  Luckily, we saw a post on Craigslist while in St. Augustine (2nd home) & after a 3 hour drive to Ocala & beyond: saw it, loved it, bought it.  13 mpg on the way back towing over flat two-lane FL roads.  Planning a 'shakedown' cruise at Anastasia State Park in a week then a slow mosey north to VT at the end of May. Looking forward to meeting other LL family along the way.  Best Regards to everyone!

Congrats on your acquisition!  What a small world!  My wife and I saw that exact unit for sale a couple weeks ago on the RV Traded app and gave it some thought.  Don't get me wrong, we love our 2016 CLTBS and have invested more hours and $ into upgrading and doing mods than I want to count.  However we do wish at times it was just a bit larger [emoji51].   This unit (and all the other pics of it on RV Trader) looks amazing.

If I had a bigger tow vehicle than our 2019 RTL-E Ridgeline we may have jumped on it.  I also know the 21 footer is only 10-15% heavier than ours.  (Ours has an extended frame in the back).   Please let me know what your Ridgeline towing experience is like with this unit loaded with your gear.

Also lmk if you hear of any hacks to get more towing HP out of the Ridgeline.  We use premium fuel and got the high tech air filter in it, but ....

Enjoy!!!!!!

Hello dlb,
Thanks so much for your nice note & kind wishes!  We found the 21rbs on Craigslist & although we were visiting rvtrader.com multiple times every day did not see the unit we bought on that website.  Currently, there is another 21rbs posted for sale in FL on rvtrader that is a 2016 model (ours is 2017) for 21k & looks nice, maybe that's the one you have seen?  Ours has the white cabinets, etc.
We are planning a 2 day trial camp this week at Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine (a gem!! If you haven't been there)  and will travel north (slowly) at the end of May.  No WDH , sway bar, etc. to begin & will see how it goes.  Sticker on camper says under 3700 uvw & under 400 lbs tongue wt.  Hope to weigh both TV & LLCL & will post results when available.  Route home will be up SC & NC coasts, Wmsburg, VA & then ?
Lily has yet to offer opinion as to suitability of accommodations. More later as things develop.

Sounds like a wonderful shakedown cruise. For sure weigh that unit loaded with your usual stuff. The uvw is definitely not realistic. And the loaded tongue weight on even my 16TBS is closer to 600 than 400lbs. If you can't find a way to get an accurate tongue weight (which in my opinion is critical to safety), I've got a Sherlne trailer tongue scale I loan out for just the cost of mailing (about $25 round trip). I look forward to the trip report!

Thank you, Merlin.  Will weigh & report.  May take you up on the tongue scale offer when we again settle in place.  Hope to be footloose(?) for some time & see what's 'out there'.

We have stayed there before & know how hard it is to get a site.  After buying the camper, we checked almost hourly (sometimes more often) to see if there was a cancellation & finally found one & jumped on it.  The park also has a few walk-up sites but not available every day so no guarantees... Will spend another night there on the 27th (another cancellation), Fort Clinch on Amelia I. on the 28th (another cancellation) the 4 nights in Charleston at James Island County campground (nice but twice as much as FL State Parks), then Huntington Beach State Park for 3 nights (expensive, too).  RE: towing w/o WDH & sway bar: too early to know for sure, but so far so good.  Kept speed moderate, & minimal interstate.  Will post w/ update soon.
