toy hauler blown tire ripped out wiring

I had a tire blowout on the highway that ripped out the trailer brake wiring (dual axle livin lite 26' toy hauler).  I haven't started to patch it yet but I'm confused because not only did I lose the trailer brakes I also lost all the brake, turn and running lights.  It appears as if only the brake wiring was damaged.  Do the brakes and the lighting all run through a common ground that would cause me to loose everything?  Any other insight.

Unfortunately KZ informed me they have no wiring diagrams for the livin lite product line.

I would doubt that there would be a common ground wire for brakes and tail lights, but in the latter days of Thor's ownership, strange things have happened, so who knows.

Also I believe but have not confirmed it, that the trailer brake signal comes from the controller in the TV and the brake lights, turn signals and clearance lights (parking lights) comes from their respective TV source.

Can you look at the other side and figure out how to restore the wiring using that side as a guide.

Thanks for your input.  Unfortunately the the wiring is different side to side.  The tire that blew has more wires than the others which is why I think there may be a common ground that was broken there.  Yes the lights come from the TV so the only thing everything has in common is a ground.

Before the trip I had pulled the wheels to grease the bearings and noticed all the brake wiring was too short.  IE when jacked up the wiring was pulled tight like a guitar string so I had planned on rerouting things this fall.  This is a 2017 and the build quality was pretty poor unfortunately.

I wonder about fuses. Track down all the trailer associated fuses in the TV and maybe you'll find a bad one?

Fuses came to mind for me, too. Put a checker on the tow vehicle and check everything is lighting up the pins. It could also have shorted and fried something, including the EBC itself. But check the tow vehicle first. I got my tester at HFT, plugs into the 7 way.

That quickly gets you localized and start fixing wires.

To close this one out, yes there must be a ground loop.  I got everything reconnected and the lights started working again.  No blown fuses or any other problems.   The factory wiring was a very poor job under the camper.  I noticed when greasing the bearings this spring that when the suspension is extended the brake wiring is pulled as tight as a guitar string.  It was on my list of things to fix this fall but the tire blowing out sped that up.

Thanks for the follow up. Your experience brings up some interesting questions about grounding, but I'm not even sure what the questions are!
