I have a CL, 26RLS with 53 gallon fresh water capacity. (I think, I've never measured it but that's what I've been told) installed a brand new Sure Flow pump a few months ago. Works fine until it's used about half of the supply then starts acting like it's sucking air or running out of water. I'm sure it isn't out of water 'cause i can refill the resevoir with about 20 gallons of fresh water. Possibly an air leak in the pick-up line? Or?? Any ideas?

Yes, maybe an air leak. But maybe a pinched hose or heaven forbid the hose is connected high on the tank and can't use the bottom half of it.

Thanks DavidM for your reply. My thoughts also. Would you know how big of a job it is to remove / replace / check that pick-up line? Would the reservoir need to accessed from underneath the camper?

DavidM

The hose, well 1/2" tubing I think, on my 16TBS it goes from the suction of the pump then down through the floor and connects to the water tank near the bottom. On mine I can easily visually check for kinks and where it enters the water tank.

You will have to look at yours.

The specs for the 26RLS list the fresh tank at 63 gallons. Big tank!

As David says, most CampLites were built to pick up water from a fitting near the bottom of the tank. If you get water pickup from a full tank it probably rules out any kinks in the pickup line. However, the 26RLS was a short lived experiment so you'll have to trace the line to see how they did it. Many other campers just poke a hole in the top of the tank and stick a 1/2" hose down in. If that's the case it may not reach the bottom of the tank. Go look see. The FW tank is translucent Polyethylene so you can see the water level from the side with a flashlight. Note that the tank must be very close to level to use most of the water. You might even be able to tilt the tank in favor of the pickup location as a troubleshooting step. Let us know how you progress.

The under carriage of my RLS is sealed. I'll have to cut and access to get a better look. This will take a few days but, I'll get started and post what I find. Thanks for the input.
