My camper came with a crappy 19" tv that the previous owners obviously installed. I'm wondering what TV's other people have and if they'd recommend them. I am looking for a 12 volt model. Which TV did Livinlite install? How well do 32" TV's fit. I have a 21 bhs. I'd like a TV with good viewing angles. Thank you!

For that size TV it will be hard to find a 12V model. Go to Best Buy or WalMart and look at the power cord on available models. Almost all will plug directly in the back of the TV and not through a wall brick. If you do find a suitable one with a power supply brick then check its output voltage. If it is 12V then you can cut it off and wire it directly to your camper's 12V system.

We bought a nice Samsung TV at Costco of the largest size that would fit in the bulkhead space in our camper. It's a 120 volt model that we power off a small Samlex pure sine wave inverter if we are not on shorepower.

DavisM,

I've been to Walmart & Bestbuy & Costco. No luck!

Merlin,
What size TV did you end up getting? Which model is your trailer?

I remember someone else posting about TV's a while ago, and I think they used a TCL 32" with Roku built in. I tried searching the forum, but I must be bad at it cause I couldn't find it!

We have a 22" Samsung that fits perfectly in our 16TBS. It's the right size for the viewing distance too, since we have to sit fairly close to it regardless of seating location. Lots of smart TVs have many options for services built in. Most of those features require a fast Internet connection and unlimited data plans, so think first about TV via antenna and/or TV from a player.

Thanks! I have a android tv box that I will plug in. It can either pull in wifi from any surrounding hotspot or play movies from a USB stick if there's no wifi.

Luckily our 16TBS came sans TV but with mount.
We picked up a 22" Samsung at Costco, for over $300 less than whatever usually comes in the trailer.
Luckily our dealer orders without TV's as he feels like we do- big ripoff.

Unfortunately I see Costco no longer sells a TV that small...glad we got it when we did.

What confounds me though is Camplite did NOT run audio cables from the TV  mount area to the stereo aux sound inputs.
Don't know if that is normal or someone screwed up on the line.

Luckily the little Samsung sounds just fine with its built in speakers.

Interesting on our 2016 TBS, we ordered without the TV too, there is audio cables present near the TV mount.  You could run your own to the audio cables to the audio (Jensen?)l unit.  There is extra audio inputs on the back of the control head.  Amazon has AC/DC TVs for sale too.  Our plan is to get one in the future for our retirement travels around US and Canada.

Well, I ended up getting a 24" Insignia (Insignia 24" 720p HD LCD TV (NS-24D310NA19). I tried a 32", but it was just too big for the space. The 24" just fits nice! I picked this TV because it was the thinnest model I could find and the attachment for the TV wall mount was in the center of the TV. Some TV's space the VESA mounting holes up and then the TV would hit the window valance. I considered one with a built in DVD, but the DVD interfered with the TV wall mount plate. I used a TOTALMOUNT meant for a Roku with my Mibox android TV box and mounted them on the little box where the TV connections are. The TV comes with Digital Audio Coaxial out. I got a little digital to analog converter box and ran some RCA cables back to the Jensen stereo. Now I can output the TV sound through the stereo. So far everything is working well! I had really hoped to get a 12v model TV, but its not too easy. I know Amazon has some, but I like to be able to run to the store and return things if they don't fit or work and it was cheaper to buy locally. I figure if needed I can get one of those tiny inverters that plug into the lighter socket.

BTW, I did not realize till I was almost done that the TV wall mount can come off from the wall! You just push up where the mount attaches to the wall. Pretty cool and made bolting the TV to the mount MUCH easier!!! :)

I ended going with a Furrion 32" in my 21bhs. Furrion doesn't make them in 12v anymore so I just use a small 300 watt pure sine inverter with it. I also added a tilt mount to the end of the existing bracket that makes a big difference when watching it from the bed. just had to drill a couple holes in the tilt bracket to make it work.

I went with Furrion, because it came with the rca audio out plugs that the Jensen 12v, and Samsung 4k tv's don't have. This lets me use the existing rca audio wiring to play through the stereo speakers. Going with Furrion also let me use a single remote for both stereo and tv. The 32" is the biggest you can get while still being able to pop it off the wall easily to mount outside. I also run an amazon firestick plugged into the usb port on the back of it, essentially making it a "smart tv". TV uses very little amperage.
