Anyone ever take a Livin Lite back to the factory for repair?

We're headed for Canada too. After much debate, we finally decided on a July-August trip to Glacier, Banff, Jasper, and Riding Mountain National Parks. To the mountains!

FYI, there is only an inch clearance behind the Azdel and that space is full of expanded foam. I've had no luck finding fasteners that will securely hold anything to that. Secure fastening is most likely going to come from finding a "stud", or bridging the gap between the "studs" with aluminum bar stock and screwing into that. LL spins the head off lots of SS screws and also misses into the Azdel often. I keep a stock of self-tapping SS screws in the camper, along with a #2 square drive.

I used molly bolts- they hold very well.   Have to get short ones to accommodate the thin wall.
6/32 x 3/4 size worked well.  I did need to get longer screws after seating them to go through the roughly 1 in thick mirror frame.

Molly bolts pic below with the Livin'Lite screw for reference.

I wish I could remember where I bought them a few years ago- having trouble finding ones that short now and I don't have but a few left :-\

ADDED IN EDIT-  found where I got the small/short molly bolts-   a kit of 40 at HarborFreight- it has 10 of the size I used for under $5 for the whole kit.
I did find similar size molly bolts at another source - for  a mere $2 per each!!!

Further to Merlin's post—years of renovating and cabinet installing has given me a great appreciation of glued on strips where nothing exists to screw into. Glue ⅛" x 1½" to 2" aluminum flat stock to Azdel or aluminum with PL Premium and it's not coming off. I'm about to do this to hang the same medicine cabinets pictured in an old archive post by (& with my thanks to) whoofit. And yes, the key will be attached to a string :)  http://archive.aluminiumcamperforum.com/index.php?topic=1963.msg24470#msg24470

The med cabs are hung close enough to the ceiling so that I'm not concerned about any bulging out of the Azdel. If I was hanging something heavy lower down on a wall with only 1 point of attachment, I'd probably opt for a glued on strip of angled aluminum. BTW, to hold the strip in place while the glue dries, I use small countersunk screws or rivets. GK

Thanks! On my Harbor Freight shopping list!

My 21BHS certainly had/has a few rough edges. One was the box that the TV hooks up to just falling off the ceiling:

The installer had completely missed any structure when installing the screws. Pretty careless.

Those may tighten up ok at first, but I'm afraid I remain skeptical anything only in the Azdel will hold up to the stress of travel for very long. There is almost no "structure" to the Azdel; it's really more like thick cardboard in it's holding ability. The trailer really bounces around going down the road. Give it a try for the mirror, but put something soft under it on the floor for a cushioned landing!

So you think that screw that LL used (shown in my pic) will hold up better than the molly with a spread behind the panel of probably 1/2" ;D   Just kidding :P

Two of the four screws on the mirror were stripped already., so they weren't holding anything...none of the four were into any of the AL tubing.
