Leaks, not surprised.

Well, I can't say I'm shocked, but I had a leak in the trailer, the caulking where the roof meets the front cap was dried out and cracking. It came off in pieces, that lasted about two years or so, (2015 21RBS). I cleaned it up, removed the loose caulking and put down a 4" strip of "EturnaBond" across the entire width of the roof. I've used this product in the past and has worked well, I had it on my old trailer for 4 years and it was still intact when I sold it.
I inspected the rest of the caulking and it'll have to be replaced eventually, (by that I mean before I store it for the winter). I don't know what they used, but I would think it should have lasted more then it did, anyone else with caulking problems?

That seam where the roof meets the front cap is ugly and really difficult to caulk (at least on the campers with the aluminum roof). I'm also not surprised you had to re-caulk that area. I've had to touch up caulk in the corners and around the skylight each year (with Dicor self-leveling caulk). It's a hard life for caulk! Glad you caught it before there was any wood rot  ;)
