battery charge indicator light

I'm going to upgrade to 2-6V golf cart batteries on my 2018 CL 16 DBS.  Will the battery indicator still read correctly (or as accurately as it does now) with the additional reserve power?

Are there any changes I need to make to the electrical system--or just wire the two 6Vs in series?

Thanks,

DavidM

Yes, just wire the two batteries in series.

I don't know what battery charge indicator light you have, but typically these are not very accurate as I suspect it is just measuring battery voltage and giving a broad indication of charge. These typically will be heavily influence by what load you are pulling at the moment.

For example, check the light and then actuate your slide in or out. While moving see what happens to the light. The slide draws 10-15 amps and that will reduce the voltage by a few tenths. A few tenths of voltage difference is about a 20% charge difference, so it is strongly influenced by load.

But if it worked for you with one battery, it should also work with two.
