...since the Livin' Lite forum is sadly sinking.  Checking in from Swainsboro, Georgia.  Wife and I bought a used 2013 Camplite 16DB early this year, and we love it.  Just wishing Camping World would get it fixed and back to us - it's been there over 2 months for repairs from a towing mishap.  Have really enjoyed the LL forum, and have checked this one out a few times and found good info here as well.  Glad to be here as a member now.

Plenty of room on this boat and I'll bet Paul won't let it sink!

I hope CW gets on it so you can camp again soon. Did you post about the towing mishap on the other forum? Anything anyone else can learn from it?

Here's the lesson:

Their Ain't No Such Thing As Too Much Tow Vehicle

Robert

I briefly referenced it in a post on the other forum where I was seeking some advice on replacing the BFG tire that was part of the off-road package.
You can't get BFG KOs in that size anymore, so CW is supposed to be getting me a full set of Goodyear Wranglers.  We'll see how that goes.

The mishap was kind of a freak thing.  I've been back to the scene where it occurred and I'm still not positive how it happened, but the result was a slashed tire, a broken weld on the bracket holding the axle to the frame, and a bent axle.  All I can come up with is that I cut a right turn onto a side road a little too tight, and the tire caught the metal portion of a storm drain that was jutting slightly out of the curb.  Had it not been for the storm drain, I think the tire would have merely grazed the curb.

Normally, I use my mirrors and watch my inside tires on the trailer when making a turn.  This particular time, I didn't.  So there's one lesson.   Another lesson - make sure you have insurance on your camper!  Thankfully, I did.
