I want to add another door to the side of my 14DB kitchen cabinet so as to access the dead space to right of the sink. Does anyone have a hint where to source the aluminum extrusions for the door and frame?? I should be able to find the latch. The door will be like the vertical in the attached image. Thanks! GK

Update 1: OK, asking help to locate the aircraft style latch as well. :-\
Update 2: Just thinking, perhaps some CL owner has removed the front upper storage area and is just waiting to send a door my way...

If you take the door out there should be a part number reference for the door from Challenger Door. They may not have the azdel for the door. I ordered two extra doors and was told the adel was supplied buy the purchaser. The price for shipping seemed high, but after seeing how they were packaged for shipping I understand the charges.
The 1" aluminum tubing is available at most hardware stores, Home Depot, and Lowes.
Before you start this project, make sure you have a way to secure the cabinet to the wall and ceiling. The steel tape that is used for support behind the adel can be found with a magnet. Aluminum, not so easy.

Hope this helps

Thanks gglkap1 for the tip. My cabinets are painted grey aluminum, I plan on using the piece I cut out for the new cabinet door insert. GK

This year, there seems to be a dearth of mod posts. I think I'm having withdrawal...I have quite a few nearing completion/planned, including the big one, adding a curved window to the front.

Some may not know where the new cabinet door will be installed since kitchen layouts differ from model to model. While there is a good amount of kitchen storage in the 2014 14DB, it seems no one at LL was thinking about what it's like to access the storage. We are getting pretty tired of A) pulling out a mishmash of cardboard boxes to get at items 'at the back', B) essentially having only 1 layer of storage per compartment and C) getting down on our bellies to reach into the nether regions of the floor level storage under the sink. The whole area is calling out for mods like pull out bins, etc. I'm not aware of any posts on this forum about doing something about this. I could have used the inspiration.

Anyhoo, I've finally decided to heavily modify and install several slide out mesh bin units from IKEA. https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/S19876454/ But when I do, the storage to the right of the bins under the sink will take inaccessibility to a new level. Hence, a new cabinet door on the side will solve all. I suppose if LL evolved under its original leadership, another access door would have eventually ended up there. See attached pic.

Looks like Challenger Doors will be able to make the door (27.5" H x 9.5" W). GK
