So, I have looked around and have found that this is pretty much the best package out there for what my family is looking for. We aren't living out of it but want a place to shelter during rain or a place to sleep after a day of hiking. My family of three and a beagle would fit perfectly. Dinette queen size for my wife and I and the tip out for my 3 year old.

I have found an '18 that has the options I want (azdel walls, metal cabinets, solar jack, TV) with the exception of the lifted off road package. Is the 11FK leaf sprung or does it have a bolted on axle?

Should I be concerned about the fact that LL is basically dead as a brand? If I buy out of state and have a warranty type of issue, can I go to any LL dealer to get service (the trailer is in Ohio but Leo's in MD is closer)?

Others have reported warranty difficulties. I doubt that any (former) LL dealer who didn't sell you the trailer would  mess with the warranty. So be careful.

Having said that about the warranty, I think that the LL is still a great trailer and if the 11FK fits your needs then go for it.

FWIW, last Feb? when I heard LL was shutting down, I started scrambling to find the exact model that I wanted.   I assumed I'd only find a used version, but was fortunate to find a very leftover model that had never been sold.  I totally realized that even though Thor said that they'd stand behind the warranty, it would be difficult to get any service locally.

I found exactly what I wanted (late 15 build CL21RBS with alum floor/roof/sides for me and vinyl covered alum floor and wood cabinet facing for my wife (we'd had a LL with the bare alum floor and alum cabs before and my wife was never a fan) so it was just what we wanted and we were willing to go for it.  But it was in IN about 700 miles away.

IMO the key with buying campers far away is to do a VERY extensive pre-delivery inspection (pdi) where you crawl over/on top/under ever nook and cranny, test ALL systems and components, find the issues, and then give the dealer a few days to fix the problems before writing the check.  My long distance dealer was great, they pulled the trailer inside the day before and left me alone for hours to do whatever I wanted with it.  They even offered to let me spend the night in it (which I passed on because I needed to get to Chicago for work.)

Here's a popular (some might say obsessive) PDI from the internet that has worked for me.  http://www.angelfire.com/trek/buenavistas/RV_checklists/PDI_V113_2.pdf

In my experience it is MUCH easier to have dealers fix problems before signing papers as they want to move the trailer.  And if it is in the busy time of year at a busy local dealer, when you tell them you just bought the trailer 700 miles away and want fast service, they'll probably snicker and say see you 3-4 months....

So, as David said, if it is the trailer you want, buy it - but make sure you'd getting a good deal on it and find the issues before you write the check.

LL still has a web site with trailer features/specs. The leaf spring suspension is listed for all sizes of Camplite trailer for '18.

We looked at a 16BH and liked the general construction of it so the 11FK has become a front runner. The 16 is just too big.

Anyone own an 11FK and mind giving their thoughts on it? LL quitting production is a bit off putting.

I've been in a "mighty 11" and liked it a lot. It's owned by a member who used to be active on the forum and posted quite a bit, PEIslander. You might try doing some searches on the forum for their posts and also try using the 11 as a search term.

Paul,

Have not visited here for a while, we were just talking about our mighty 11 and what a fine camper it is. Ours was one the first 10 travel trailers built by LivinLite and we really liked it. We moved into a larger fiberglass camper, but the mighty 11 is a great camper, too!
