Home in VT 2 weeks, cold but no snow.  90 days out, no motels just Camplite.  Happy to be home but... 3 months in SC, GA, FL. Picked up our 2017 21rbs stored in Charleston, SC on 12\13.  Special places to stay: Cheraw State park, SC; James Island County Park, Charleston; Gamble Rogers, Flagler, FL; Jetty Park Port Canaveral, FL; Long Point County Campground, Melbourne, FL; Natural Bridge KOA, VA;  4 new tires & seals lubed in SC @ start, de-winterized & good to go (we hoped).  Issues: one leaky skylight/fan cover ($250 repair), some floor leakage heading home (maybe wheel-wells? Need looking at).  Working trip: teaching ESL via Zoom to students & 'Piano Extraordinaire' performances in SC, GA & FL.  TV: 2020 Honda Ridgeline, w/o WDH.  Avg. mpg: 12.  Can't wait to do it again next year.

Good suggestions & will consider it for a Spring project.  Will post pics if attempted.  Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply, Fatdog!  Looks like you did a fantastic job.  We have long cabinets on both sides of the bed.  I will look again but the end cabinet framing appears to have been welded to the center cabinet framing rather than screwed together.  That would require cutting the framing apart in place which I'd rather not do.  But your work is inspiring me to consider trying.  Will post results if attempted. We're headed South for a couple of weeks to SC before cold weather sets in. Hopefully will store the camper near Charleston & avoid having to winterize this year.  Maybe even go West for some winter getaway.  Happy camping!

Very nice work.  Like the idea & look of the theater seating across from the 40" tv + sound bar! Wondering if anyone has modified the ceiling mounted bedside cabinets that hang down & overlap the sides of the bed (our 2017rbs has them on both sides.)  Head/elbow bangers that make sleeping cramped & dangerous.  It appears the cabinets have full-welded aluminum frames that are bolted to the exterior walls and integral to the entire cabinetry.  Love our Camplite but hoping to sleep better w/o the full side cabinets. Thanks for any help.

First, thanks Paul for all your work & saving the Forum for the LL family!
Saw this rig a few weeks ago in Manchester, VT parked at the Equinox Hotel. CA plates. Quite the travel quiver! Includes float pontoons.  Not a LL, but...

Trailer Maintenance / Black tank tips?
August 12, 2021, 12:46:47 PM
Probably not everyone's favorite topic...but any tips on how to completely get 'everything' out of the black tank when dumping?  Repeated filling until monitor shows full & using black tank flush still find it hasn't emptied everything.  Suggestions appreciated.

Camping General Discussions / Re: Heading West

Best wishes for a safe & fun trip. Care to share your route & planned overnights? We are discussing such a venture this fall with a route through CO, Utah, NM, AZ then coastal from CA to OR & WA.

Yes, pleased with the mpg & quality of the ride/comfort of the Ridgeline.  We had reservations about its ability to tow not any more.

Correction: CGVW was approx. 9100lbs (5100 TV & 4000 TT).  Consider 13.5 +\- mpg pretty good.

Hello LL family, slow mosey over, home at last in VT. Stays at The Refuge on Roanoke Is. adjacent to OBX (wonderful campground w/ cleanest bathhouses, sites, etc. no ground fires permitted, fresh seafood @ O'Neal's, quiet, costly but worth it), next @ Chickihominy Park in  James City County near Williamsburg, VA (pretty park on the river but torrential rain produced mud, mud, mud: recommend choosing a grassy site if visiting), then Misty Mt. Campground just NW of Charlottesville, VA (typical resort campground where we met a caravan of 19 Airstreamers who had just toured the Blue Ridge & Skyline Drive, glad we weren't behind them on the road), then Camp-a-While just north of Harrisburg, PA (nice wooded sites but to get to the campground need to go down a steep winding road & all night listened to 18 wheelers grinding up and down nearby, so be advised), finally a 6 hour push to VT.  Currently regrouping @ Dorset RV Park & loving it: quiet, uncrowded for the moment but will fill up soon.  Towing data: overall averaged about 13mpg on regular gas w/ the Ridgeline w/ minimal sway w/o a WDH up & down RT 81 in PA & NYThruway. CGVW @ approx. 4000 lbs.  Minor leaks enroute @ door. No other issues.

Need to add to last post: stayed 3 nights @ Huntington State Park in S.C. after leaving Charleston.  Best beach park yet (not including our home-park Anastasia in St. Augustine).  Steps to beach from RV pad (south campground w/ cement pads, north has gravel). Miles of unspoiled beachfront & all you need close by a short drive away. A bit pricey, but worth it.  Dogs allowed on beach, Lily approved.
