Also....just for the record, fiberglass is an option. You can still get the standard aluminum sides.

With past frame weld issues, I think I would like to be able to keep an eye on things.

In a perfect world, I would too. I'm also in the northeast, and plan to do some cooler weather camping, so it's a trade off for me. The covering is on by hex head screws, easily reached, so I'm thinking I can still peek in on things, tho certainly not as easily. Time will tell if I will be cursing this thing, or praising it.  :o

I have noticed in my research that there are some 2018 model that have fiberglass side instead of Aluminum. I would like to hear opinion on this. I have read that it was a prototype and that there was also 2018 model with Aluminum sinding. When you look for 2018 model the one that have the fibreglass have the Platinum Edition package

Platinum Edition: $3,500 Value High Gloss Gelcoat Fiberglass • Forced Heated & Enclosed Underbelly • Decorative Pillow Package (where available) • Backsplash at Cooktop • LED Back Lit Lighted Glass in OH Cabinets (where available) • LED Undermounted Accent Lights at Kitchen C.Top • Double Aluminum Entrance Step • Battery Disconnect • Back up Camera Prep • Stainless Steel Appliances • Deluxe Chrome Graphics

I am not sure if the one I ordered will have that. There was no Platinum Edition on the order form so I assume it will be Aluminum

Is this good or bad?

Paul....did you get you camper yet? Is it aluminum?

I have a 2018 16TBS with the fiberglass sides and the enclosed,  heated unbelly. I haven't used it in cold weather yet, so I have nothing to report! The trailer is the Platinum Edition, so if I can possibly answer any questions, I would be happy to.

I haven't seen mine yet either! Bought it sight unseen. Knew exactly what I wanted, and when I saw it online I made a call. I'm driving 1000 miles to get it, so it's going to be a doozie of a maiden voyage for this newbie.  Best of luck to you too Michael.

Michael, I'm taking delivery on my 2018 CL16TBS in a few weeks as well. Also new to RVing. Congrats!
I assumed you did the walk thru after you signed. Thanks for this question.

New RV-er here. Don't even have my trailer yet! Will be picking it up in less than 3 weeks.
I've been reading like crazy....ordering stuff I need based on very helpful suggestions from experienced board members.
I'm nervous, excited, and...sort of ready..lol.  1st trip out with it will be bringing it home from the dealer. I plan to take 2 weeks to do that. Looking forward to everyone's input 👍🏻
