I use 5 gallon buckets from Lowe's. Each one will hold 25-30' of 50 amp power cable. I also notch the top lip on opposite sides to be able to run the wire and put the lid back on.

I do still have the dinette. Is your jackknife the black Lippert one? Where are you located?

With the trailer wet but no toys I was sitting at 1100#s. I carry a Polaris Rzr XP4 1000 loaded backwards. It's dry weight is 1700#.

I did get it installed. I ended up having to run power from the breaker box along the top corner of the ceiling. I will get pictures once I move my trailer back to the house.

So I went ahead and ordered a new HiCap Penguin II ac to add. My plan will be to run the electrical along the top corner of the wall to the refrigerator using an external wire channel. I'm hoping to be able to use the current fan control wire to pull new thermostat wire to the current location. I will try and document as much as I can to provide others guidance if they go this route. AC should be delivered Monday and I'm hoping to begin and finish the work in early May.

All,

I am currently trying to replace my dinette with another couch. Unfortunately, I have not found a place to source the Lippert couches that are currently in our units as Lippert only sells then to OEM manufacturers from what I can find. Has anyone done this, and if so did you find an exact match? Also if anyone is interested in training a rollover sofa for a dinette let me know.

Thank You

I have a 2017 model trailer so it already has a white roof. Unfortunately Thor had already replaced the aluminum roofs by the tine I was ready to buy.

Ahh.  Mine is set up for 50 amp service, which is why I was surprised that it was not prewired from the factory. I have checked the breaker panel and have the ability to place a breaker on the leg that does not have the current ac.

David,

Main use for the second ac is when camping in uncovered areas. I've discovered in this area there are surprisingly a lot of camp grounds that do offer 50 amp. I also have the 5kw generator built in so I can utilize that during the heat of the day if needed. My goal is to add a second 13.5 to compliment the 15k I already have. It's not often that I would need both but I tend to believe I would rather have and not need than not have and need.

rickyz1, did you ever try the additional A/C?  I'm in the same boat as you with not having any prewiring done. I have the 8.5x28 FB with a 15k single ac. The Texas and Oklahoma summers are just too much with out shade. I'm trying to figure out if the roof panels come out or are glued. I may just run the plastic chord channels along the wall edge of the roof to the fridge for power.

You can send living lite an email and ask for the cut sheet for your trailer model. I requested one and they sent it for my 8.5x28. It shows all the stud locations with measurements. Now remember they may deviate slightly from it.

Here the pictures of the install. I apologize for the delay. I mounted it in the bathroom cabinet between the electrical switch and the trailer. This should allow protection from generator and shore power. I will have to get a picture of the display box, which I mounted between the cabinet (closet) doors in the bathroom. I did these because the display continually flashes information and didn't want it in the main sleeping area of the trailer.

I have the same covers as well. Work great at keeping rain out and protecting the vent cover and housing.
