General Towing Discussions / Re: Towing on sand

Unhooking the weight distribution bars is a good idea.  Hadn't thought about that.  I knew that the TV tires had to be aired down, but was not so sure regarding the trailer.

Thanks.

General Towing Discussions / Towing on sand

I was hanging around at the Campendium site, reading a post about some adventurous souls camping with a fifth wheel on a Texas beach.

This raised a question that I have had for a while.  I know that surf fishermen all recommend dropping tire pressures in order to drive on sand.  I would think that this is good advise for a tow vehicle, but what is the common practice on the trailer that one is towing?  Deflate or not?

Member Introductions / I found you guys!

Hello, again.  I was a member of the old Living Lite forum, under the name, Dave.  Not to be confused with the more verbose, David.  David always had a lot of good info to share.  I was the quieter of the Dave's.

Formerly, we had owned a 13QBB.  It was our first camper.  We sold it looking for a 21RBS, but couldn't find one in our price range.  Ended up with a Remington (Winnebago) 2100FBS; nice but it's no LL.  In finding this forum, I also found the new LL company-run forum.  I didn't recognise many souls.  This forum more closely resembles the old place.  Ah, nice to be home.  Even though we are LL-less, I will be hanging around, in the back of the room, sucking up the wealth of knowledge that was the hallmark of the old place.
