I think I might have posted pictures of an ancillary mattress for a QS 6. It is a vinyl wrapped foam block that sits on a plastic storage bin to extend the length of the fold up couch. It would hold two medium sized kids but not leave much room for a dog. It leaves about a foot wide "hall" to exit. It can easily be made with black vinyl and foam cushion.

It is a good deal but an 8 fold increase on Seniors is silly. Also, if lost or damaged, it is another $80.

Currently, the Senior Pass cost $10. It gives you free access to most national parks and 50% of on camping costs. It lasts a lifetime and is one of the best values available. I have saved hundreds of dollars every year since I bought mine. They are not replaceable if lost but costs only $10 for a new one.
Earlier this month the National Park Service decided to raise the cost to $80. No real explanation other than it would relieve about $26 million dollar amount from a billion dollar shortage.
The date of change has not been announced but will be this spring. There is still time to but a pass for $10.

Thanks Bill. If you make it to Utah, try to see Goblins Valley State Park. I used to live in Salt Lake City and it was one of my favorite places. Especially at night. Almost magical.

Just to introduce myself, I own a QS 6.0. I camp always with my chocolate lab pup and frequently my 3 year old granddaughter. I recently retired and moved here from Philadelphia area (Bala Cynwyd). I am hoping to take a 3 month photo trip out West from Louisiana to Utah, Arizona, California to Yellowstone and home via Colorado and southern Utah. I usually boondock with a solar panel to charge phones and watch news on 12v HD TV. Hope to learn from users in this forum.
My tow vehicle is a bright yellow Jeep Willys, hope to see you on the road.
