Not a rumor.
I was trying to get the proper break shoes for my TBS 16 and my dealer told me that they will not be making the Livin Lites any longer. You knew Thor would screw it up. Heck they couldn't even tell my dealer what size shoes my camper needs. The only way I will know now is to pull one and take it to a RV service place or dealer  to show them for match up. VERY SAD. I would stay as far away from Livin lite now as I could. Spare parts will become an issue in short notice. THOR SCREWED UP ANOTHER ONE.

Thanks ADR

I will have to crawl under there and see if I can get that information. Shame it is not listed in the book.

Does anyone know the size of the break shoes needed for replacement on a 16 TBS 2016 model year? 14 inch wheels.
Looking to replace mine maybe ,but cant seem to get the information needed on them. I think they are 2 x 10 but I'm not 100% sure. Also called Sunny Island RV where I bought it from , but they did not know and they said they would ask Livin Lite , but I have not heard back from them. A part number or just a general size would be of great help.

Thanks

Hey Voss

Nice back up.  An astronomy friend of mine has one those Kelly Kettles and loves it. He and his wife do a lot of back packing and long range hiking trips. They uses it for everything. Not really sure why , but he says it is there one heavy item. I guess to back packers every once counts.

Trip Report/Photos / Camping trip to Asheville N C

http://www.campfirelodgings.com/Rates-6-23.html

We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend . What a nice campground and the view is great from the top also. We had a deluxe site . Couldn't get a premium one. They stay booked and are hard to get. For reason to be understood if you stay here. The entire staff is very nice. They do take pride in their small park . The Internet was OK . Can't say what the cable was like. We didn't use it. Out Tailgate dish did pick up one SAT so we got a few channels plus off air had a few too. Our site was old , but level, clean with a good amount of shade with a ton of space between us and neighbors. The water was fine and power too.

The Asheville area has a ton of places to eat and drink. Lots of Arts and of course the Biltmore  House Estates. If you haven't seen America's only true castle ( TYCOON STYLE ) you are missing out. It's a one of a kind for sure.
Rafting, Kayaking, Tubing, Zip lining and just so many out door things to do. You'll find one to enjoy.

We enjoyed our stay and will go back again.

Camplite and Bearcat Modifications / Cabinet lights
September 05, 2017, 07:06:34 PM
I added these cheap lights to the inside of all our cabinets and they worked out better than I had hoped. The boss really liked them. They help a lot . I used lithium batteries also. Should last a long time.. They stayed in place out first trip out

You are welcome ,but not sure I did anything. I really thought it was just how the images looked to me.

Glad it helped you though.

Sounds very much like you have it well under control to add that 3 inches of height.

Hope you report back once you have done it.

My expedition habits may be a little on the extreme side, but there may be others who would be interested in added protection here. Alternately i've been pondering fabbing a hinged skid plate with quick release pins to cover the whole apparatus.

Expedition Extreme , I'll say for sure. LOL

Now I do not know a lot about your camper and the off road package  and I'm only going by images I see.
Compared to ours yours looks lower than our 16TBS and it doesn't have a off road package of any kind. Our 2016 16TBS is single axle and sits fairly high off the ground. From the picture of yours ours sits.
higher. Not sure why that is. Just seems funny to me they consider yours to be off road and ours not yet ours sits higher.

What am I missing here? Some sort of model  or year change ?
It could also just be the the way the images look to me .

Just found it kind of strange observation is all.

I use my folding G2-5" Folding Firebox Stove. It folds flat so its been on all my kayak trips. The best part is it burns every type of fuel so you can grill in the evening and use the tangier burner to make coffee in the morning.

From you images it looks like that cooker puts out some good heat. That it folds down to a small box is all the better.
Multi fuel user tops it off. Nice.

Lets see what others are using. Post a picture of your camping grill.

Just to update on this little grill. Our first time out someone ( KIDS WE THINK ) stole it.  It did well the 2 times we did use it. We have bought a newer different one now and have used it enough times now to know we really like it.  It cooks even and very hot. It has a small built in wood chip smoker too.

I don't have a lot of images of it but I do have one on first use. Warmed up some left over Chicken we had. he he he

Trip Report/Photos / 4th of July trip
July 15, 2017, 09:04:00 PM
Our 4th of July trip was kind of a local trip down the road about 100 miles. To a campground named Fries New River Trail RV Park.

First get the name right. It is not Fries like something you would eat. It is pronounced as Freeze. You will quickly be corrected if you make the mistake. LOL

On a 1 to 10 scale I give this one a 9. Only because I don't think it is large enough and more people should be allowed to enjoy this one.

An extremely well kept full hook up campground for sure. The owners Tom and Deleta take extra great care of their campers and park. Only 16 sites , but each and every one has a ton of room and all the hook ups are clean and taken care of. Not sure if there is a rig to big that these sites can't handle. Somebody thought this RV park out really well. His bath house and rest rooms are spotless. Walk straight out of the RV parks road and you will walk right up to a nice over look view of the river. Just follow the road down to the river grounds. A well maintained local park on the river awaits you.

Now Fries is a town of only 500 in population so don't expect much.  Well I wasn't and I was wrong. Fries is also the start of the flat no hill NEW RIVER TRAIL. Bike riders will love this place. We were here for the 4th of July week. If you want a place to sit back and relax this is a great campground to do so. If you want a campground with lots to do around the area it has that also. Did I mention fireworks ? You actually get 2 shows in one night. The local fire Hall has one then the town after that. WOW what a fireworks show for such a tiny town. It was down at the river and can rival any larger city's fire works show. You can not help but get a good view of this show right down on the river.I will be posting a YOUTUBE video of the show later. Lots to do around this area. The Parkway is not far away and the local music at the town hall theater is nice too. There is of course the fiddlers convention held around here in the early fall also. Largest one in the world I might add.

A little bit of history information for you. The New River is the 2nd oldest river in the world, and flows north. Only the Nile is older.

If you stay here you I think will like it. We did.

Trip Report/Photos / Cherokee NC trip
May 31, 2017, 08:23:47 PM
The wife and I took a few extra days off from work  Memorial Day weekend and made a week long stay in Cherokee NC.
We stayed at a very large campground , http://www.happyholidayrv.com/  geared towards families with kids. Really a perfect set up campground for families with kids.
They had a live band playing music on the weekend 2 nights in a row . A live out door concert right by the pond on the stage . A lot of the campers showed for it and you could hear it all over the grounds. The campground was full and that is saying a lot with over 350 sites to fill. It is run by full time RV'ers and owned by about 28 Cherokee families who split the profits from it. Like a lot things in the Nation they share a lot of things. They had a stocked pond and the 2 streams were stocked with trout every few days by the Nation. . So a lot of fishing went on.

If you like to spend a few dollars betting ( we don't ) the Harrah's Cherokee Casino was just a few miles away on the same road.

We visited some of the wife's old college friends from Western Carolina who live back in the Sylva, Wayensville area. Took a long day trip on the Smoky Mountain Express way and the Blue Ridge parkway twice. All in all it was a nice long relaxing time we had. I took  few pictures and should have  thought to take better ones of the campsite ,but just plain kept forgetting to do so

All in all we had a very nice time. We always do once were back in the Smoky Mountains.
