Livin Lite General Discussion / Cold weather camping
August 16, 2021, 03:04:14 PM
Hello, we are driving from Alabama to Texas to look at an almost new 21BHS. Our plans are to head up to Newfoundland Canada in the middle of September (our son lives there). Our intentions are to be back in the States by mid-November at the latest. It's very possible we may encounter freezing Temps.  I know the Livin Light is not a 4 season camper, but is it insulated such that the lines can handle some amount of cold weather?

Thanks. Keep your fingers crossed the trailer works out.  It's a long drive.

I've read about the possible weld issue
We are going to have it checked by RV tech.

Hi all,  We are going to check out a 2014 21BHS on Tuesday.  I want to confirm what I'm reading - there is no manual override using a crank.  One has to remove motor to manually push back in.

What type of mechanism does the slide use - rack & pinion or worm gear?  Ha- I just learned this watching youtube video.  But now that I watched it, do you know?

Thx

Thank you all for the response!  I checked out the Purchase advice section too.  Someone had posted pics of bad welds.  That was helpful.  I appreciated all the info on checking out a used trailer.

So everyone loves their Livin Lite?  Would you trade to an Intech camper if you could?

Hi Jonathan,

I'm looking to buy a 21rbs.  I found one in TX. I was wondering did yours end up having weld/coupling problem?

Trailers for Sale / Re: WTB 16bhb

I'm in the market for a livin light trailer.  I'm just curious if this one sold.  I'm kinda interested to the re-sale market, if I successfully bought one then changed my mind.  Thanks.

Hi, I live in Huntsville, AL.  Where did you find your trailer?  I'm looking to buy one.  If you're close to Huntsville, would you consider letting us look at it?

Thanks.

I have found someone who's selling a 2014 21rbs that has barely been used.  Sounds perfect.  After reading the forum, I am concerned about bad welds in the aluminum frame/axle.  The posters who had that problem strongly discourage Livin Light.  Also seems that many owners are very happy.  What percentage of trailers would you estimate had weld problems?  Were they associated with a certain year?  Thank you!
