Title: Caulking on roof
Post by: dlb53151 on August 19, 2018, 11:25:03 AM
I am the second owner of our 2016 TBS so I don't know what type of caulking was used around the skylight.  The caulking is cracking so I want to seal that up without the hassle of removing the old stuff.  Any info on which product to use would be great.  Thanks

I found the front corner of my roof caulking was cracked and the outer edge pealed up a bit. I ended up pulling up the loose stuff and then re-caulking the seam and screw heads. I used a stiff scraper to see how strong the bond was, if it was weak I replaced it. A few screw heads were exposed so I just scrubbed them down with green scotch bright pad dish soap, let it dry and wiped it down with some alcohol and put a coat of sealant over it.

Our LL dealer at the time of purchase sold us Dyco 20/20 Caulk.  I got a tube of Dicor Lap Sealant Self-leveling Grey Part number 501LSG which I think is the same stuff used on the roof?

Do a little research on this product and decide what you would like to do.
I am on my third year and the product looks new.
I sealed the roof seam on the front of the trailer and it looks much better.
I then applied this product to the entire roof to wall joint.

I posted the wrong page.
This is the product I used.

Checked with the Livin Lite dealer also.  They said this is the product they use so I thought I would share.

I use the Geocell for the vertical wall sections, but it is NOT self leveling for the roof.  For that use a self leveling sealant like DICOR self leveling lap sealant

Thx all for your help.  Interestingly the dealer did acknowledge he told me about the incorrect product since it is not self leveling.  Vertical surfaces only.  He said Alpha is what they recommend.

I am ordering the Dicor product instead of Alpha.  A lot of great reviews for Dicor on Amazon.
