Title: 21BHS Awning Wearing Through
Post by: FastEddieB on July 19, 2018, 10:26:09 AM
Just now, for the first time, I noticed that our awning is wearing through all along where it meets the trailer. 2014 21BHS stored outside almost exclusively. How common is this, and is there a fix short of replacement?

My 2013 13QBB is not showing any wear similar to that, also stored outside.

Not sure how long they typically last but as long as it's not leaking through I'd just keep using it. I don't think there's much you can do to repair it but they're not too difficult or expensive to replace..

The awning on my 2013 21BHS has a similar area like that.  In fact, the inner layer came off and there was a little bit of leaking.  I covered it with some roofing repair tape from Camping World, similar to Eternabond (https://www.campingworld.com/quick-roof-extreme-repair-tape-bright-white-4-x-25).  That worked great and the awning has been fine this year so far.  I tried the awning repair tape from Camping World and that stuff is useless.  It degrades quickly in the Florida sun.
