Title: Retractable shower door
Post by: F3Dawg on May 28, 2018, 06:02:24 PM
I'm thinking about replacing my shower curtain in our 21rbs with a Nautilis retractable shower door. The only thing that has me second guessing this project is the molding where the shower wall meets the shower pan. I would need to shorten the two side pieces in order to fit the new retractable shower door. It doesn't look like it would effect anything if the molding was shortened. I'm assuming the shower walls overlap the shower pan. The molding only appears to be held in with a few screws and some silicone caulk.

Has anyone removed this molding?

Yes, I removed the bottom of the molding on both sides to fit the bottom track of an Irvine shower door. It's one of the best mods I've done to the camper. Easy to install, easy to use, easy to maintain, and works just right. I purchased one that left a small (few inches) gap at the top so the stall has some ventilation when being used. The bottom track fit just right against the shower stall side and I used mildew resistant silicone caulk made for bathrooms to seal all the joints/seams.

I installed the Nautilus retractable shower door this weekend. I was tired of cleaning up water on the floor every time someone took a shower.

The installation was very easy. I can't wait to use it on our next trip. Only thing I wish I had done was order the 64 inch door.
