Title: Sagging fresh water tank
Post by: tbwrench on September 10, 2017, 09:46:38 PM
Hello,

My fresh water tank is sagging / bowed at the bottom. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you fix it? I imagine it's gonna be very  difficult to truly up to the tank this way. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Travis

I think they all do to some extent. It's the nature of the plastic used, along with just the 3 strap supports. Make sure your supports are properly fastened; mine were reversed which made the tank seem to sag more. I also put a piece of high density foam the full length the axle between the tank and the axle. If your tank is also over the axle, that will help the sag a lot because the tank sags far enough to hit the axle when full.

Our fresh water tank also sagged. We had to send our rig back to the plant to have that and other issue corrected. The gauge of the aluminum brackets that was used in the original design was inadequate. Also, the heads of the screws were pulling through the bracket. Our new brackets are much heavier. If they just added a forth bracket there would no issues at all. I think they just put in lower capacity fresh tanks. We have no tank sagging on our repaired brackets.

IMO this is very common.
