Title: Livin Lite being "completely retooled and reinvented"??
Post by: whitecastleman on January 04, 2017, 09:40:37 AM
RVB magazine recently included a lengthy article interviewing several persons in leadership at K.Z. Inc., a Shipshewana, Ind.-based subsidiary of Thor Industries Inc.  K.Z. now manages Livin Lite.   The article concludes with the following quote from Marlene Snyder, K-Z Vice Pres. of Sales & Marketing:

RVB: And, finally, is there anything you'd care to reveal regarding upcoming product debuts at the Elkhart RV Open House or Louisville Show?
Snyder: I have to be careful here; I don't want to spill too many beans, but at this year's Open House K-Z will be debuting 29 new floorplans and Venture will have eight. And it's safe to say that Livin' Lite will essentially be completely retooled and reinvented, yet stay true to its all-aluminum roots.   think it's fair to say that dealers aren't going to be disappointed in the changes that are coming. We've touched every single brand within the K-Z, Venture and Livin' Lite families, and the changes make us even more competitive in the marketplace. It will be, hands down, the best product we've ever offered.

As part of this effort, the article states that K.Z. reached out to numerous RV vendors seeking their input about the Livin Lite brand.  It was not clear from my reading of the article if similar input was sought from LL's customer base.

Thank you for that information.  I was listening to the Girl Camper podcast last week when she had a Venture RV featured and the Venture guy talked about Livin Lite.  I WAS SO CONFUSED I listened to that section twice.  Now that makes sense.

Here is a more recent article on this issue that gives additional insight on what the new management has planned for the LL brand.

At one point in the article, the pledge to maintain the "all aluminum/no-wood" LL standard is emphasized.  Further down in the same article it is explained that there will be a wood option for those dealers/customers who want that feature for the interior cabinetry.  If most customers opt for the wood option it may become the new standard.

We'll see how this develops.
