Title: Tip-out bunk canvas removal
Post by: billmoore on December 23, 2016, 08:41:13 PM
Anybody have any tips on removing the canvas for the tip-out bunk?

I need to remove mine for cleaning. It has developed a few mold spots that I want to bleach out of it, and want to be able to thoroughly rinse the bleach out afterwards. Seems like the best way to do this is to completely remove it. Also then I can bring it in the house to thoroughly dry...

For future reference, I figured out how to remove it. Turns out it is really easy. There is a hard plastic lip sewn into the tent, and that lip holds it to the trailer wall. Start at one end prying the plastic lip off with a screwdriver. Once you get it started, you can just pull it right off. Removal took less than 10 minutes.

Given how easy it is for the tent fabric to develop mold, I think this will now be a part of my winterization process... remove it and bring it inside for the winter.
