Title: radio in '13 21 bhs
Post by: shark24 on December 28, 2022, 04:06:30 AM
Anyone ever moved the radio over closer to the microwave? I really want to move the tv that is next to the bed over to the kitchen area to make it easier to get around the bed. In the thinking stage of this.

Thank you

Not sure what's involved doing that in a 21BHS, but I would not want to tackle it in my 16TBS. There are too many wires that run in pretty inaccessible places. Why does the radio need to be moved to move the TV?

I purchased an under cabinet folding tv mount and want to make sure there is enough space for it to fold and go into the lock when we are traveling. Not sure there is enough room for this with the radio where it is. I figured with the radio mount all of the wires would be in the plastic box and could easily be moved over but I may be way off on this.

Thanks

Why do you want/need to move the radio due to moving the TV? (not being argumentative, just curious)

I moved my TV but left the radio where it is...just ran longer versions of the necessary cables to the TV (audio L/R & HDMI IIRC). In my case I ran thru existing cabinets and a short section exposed along the top corner of the wall. I have a VRV, so I can't speak to specifics of the BHS.

If you moved the entire radio: all the speaker wires, antenna, and power also need to move. The 'right' way to do this would involve removing lots of interior trim and cabinets because trying to fish all that stuff in-situ would be near impossible.

Moved it this weekend. The TV mount folds back to lock in place while traveling. Ran wires from into wire channel over door into the cabinet, moved radio over so there was plenty room for the tv and wires run in the bottom of cabinet cover back over with the aluminum piece in cabinet. Looks nice. Little extra work but love the outcome. Added more aluminum pieces to secure the weight of the tv and mount. Pic is the cabinet bottom.

Good work. Looks like it was worth the extra effort. :)
