Title: Shake-down cruise report
Post by: Lily on May 14, 2021, 07:19:27 PM
Hello All, Quick report on our 2 night 'shake-down' cruise w/ the new (to us) 2017 21rbs. Location: Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine (a gem of a park, if you haven't been there). Weather: heavy rain 1st day, gorgeous 2nd). Water, Electric, no sewer hook-up. Report: completely dry! All systems go (including ac, heat, water, lights, slide, awning, refrigerator (Electric), microwave, tv & radio/stereo/dvd, water heater (electric), stove, etc.  Made appt. for service (if needed, 'cause we weren't really sure) at B&B Trailer on Rt. 1 in St. A for brakes, seals, axels, etc. & went to drop it off. Service manager, Aaron, crawled under, around, palpated?, checked seals, etc. & gave thumbs up!!! Not sure how much $ we saved but left happy & confident!! If ever in St. A! be sure to visit B&B.  Only 1 ? Remains for now: does anyone have a mod for the bottoms & corners of the wardrobe cabinets on each side of the queen bed? Sharp edges & corners pose a problem for sleepers, especially when turning over, etc.  Thanks for reading. BTW, Lily finds unit quite comfortable, especially w/ screen door view.

Great report. Sounds like you got a gem!

My wife put multiple layers of glow in the dark tape on all the cabinet corners in ours, after I had filed off the razor sharp edges with a file.

I'm so happy Lily's happy.  ;D

Thanks, Merlin. The 21rbs has wood frame cabinets so filing wouldn't work (our Quicksilver 8.0 had sharp aluminum & could produce some serious lacerations).  We might try some tubular foam edging (my idea) like what's used for pipe insulation (spray painted for decor purposes, if necessary).

Found some foam corner bumpers that we attached to the offending cabinet corners in our TBS.  We have the wood cabinets too.

Where did you find them? & were they shaped like a corner? How attractive/unattractive? Any pics? Thanks!

Thanks, a happy. We found some rubber-type child corner protectors at Ace Hardware. 4 for $2.79! Should work fine.
