What is the best 13.5 air con. that will fit where a dometic is installed with no modifications made.
Is there any difference in a low profile except the height of it?
Thanks
Two things are important in selecting an air conditioner:
High profile: The low profile ones are inherently noisy.
Heat pump: At moderate temps, down to 40F, heat pumps are 2-2-1/2 times more efficient than straight electrical heating.

David, that is very good information about the high profile A/C being quieter. My low profile is terrible noisy.
Shark, The openings in the roof are a standard 14"X14" for A/C and vents. Any will "fit". When you purchase the inside part of the A/C, make sure you have enough clearance to walk under it. I've seen some newer models boasting higher than usual efficiency (more Btus per amp), but I know nothing of quality and noise.

I have heard good things about the Dometic Atwood Air Command:

This unit is a direct plug in replacement for Dometic and also has very good reviews:
