The sites where we've camped "off the grid" have generally been the most interesting for what we like to do. Conversely, the full hookup sites have generally been the least interesting. Some major exceptions of course, but we do look for and enjoy the more "primitive" camp sites. So this article and other info about dry camping are especially fun to read.
As a relevant aside, I think I'm in the minority for enjoying boondocking. I say that because Trailer Life magazine has ceased to exist and is now RV magazine. The former magazine catered to those with technical interests, off the beaten path destinations, and clever/useful modifications. The new magazine caters to those with mainstream destinations, shopping, and fancy places to eat. Clearly the "full hook up" type camper!
