Title: WTB a 2013 through a 2016 CL 21BHS or a CL 16BHB (Found and Purchased)
Post by: Nickadimus on June 18, 2020, 10:28:21 AM
I have been watching these boards for a while and I have finally decided to get into RVing and after all of the research I have been lead here for the CampLites.  The hard part is finding one for sale.  My dream would have the industrial interior and possibly gray or white exterior.  I posted mostly the same on the Livin Lite forum as well.

I found this one on Craigslist but I have had some issues getting touch with the owner.  I have been trying to communicate with them for about 2 weeks now and the only reply I have received is when using a friends email instead of any of my three email accounts.  Buddies say its a scam.  I am not so sure its a scam.

You should expand what you're looking for to the 2013 and 2014 21BHS.  My 2013 has the industrial interior including the aluminum floor and the aluminum roof.  They are excellent campers and ours has been great over the last 7 years or so.  I should add that mine is not for sale but you may be able to find one.

That Craigslist ad does seem a bit fishy. It's either a scam or written by someone for whom English is not their native language. But, I'm not sure what the scam would be? Anyway, I sent the person who posted the ad an email through CL and we'll see if I get a response that's acceptable.

Edit: Oops, I see I didn't reply to your post above with the CL ad. That's what the information below is about.

I don't believe it's a scam, based on the response I received to my inquiry. I asked about smoking, condition of the tires, and tow vehicle. My guess, base on the name, is that the owner is native French language, just like our forum favorite Paul. Here is the email I received back through Craigslist. If you are interested, maybe you could pursue communication through your friends email?

"Hi Roger.

First of all. Thank you for your interest.

We are non smokers.
Other than the campfire smoke.... 😉

I dont know the exact mileage on the tires. We got the trailer in Chicsgo and drive it home. We went to Maine.  Other than that we stayed rather close to PA. But we did quite a bunch of trips. I guess there is still a good half of the tires tread left. They are surprisingly sturdy.

We did not use a distribution hitch, because the Audi Q7 did not allow to use one. Neither does our Nissan Titan. And the trailer pulls perfect without. We never had sway.

Yes the water system got cleaned every spring. We can flush/desinfect it again, before you buy.

Thanks Simone"

Merlin,

I don't know what kind of magic you use but it works.  I have tried one more time to reach out to Simone from my work email even, but as of now no luck.  Its a shame I don't need to deal with financing and it would be all but a sure sale as I would be driving from Texas.  I guess I smell funny or am too hairy.  Well I hope she sells her to a loving family.

I'm not sure if you want to pursue this, but Simone emailed me through CL and said that if you are interested, provide me your phone or direct email and I'll send it on through my CL communication. That's savvy  on Simone's part, because CL always has some risk. So, if you want to take another stab at this, send me a private message on this forum with your contact info and I'll send it on to Simone via CL. Simone will then call or email you directly. If you're not interested, no problem.

So I worked with Merlin to attempt to get in touch with Simone and for whatever reason (I probably offended her), neither of us have received any responses as of yet.

So I am still in the market yall!!

Well I finally was able to get in touch with the couple from Pittsburgh and was able to go and pick up their 2016 CL BHS.  This means I am now a proud owner of a slightly used CampLite 21 BHS.  Now to make this thing all electric.
