Here's a fun article on a major solar installation for full time boon-docking. First I've heard of someone running A/C off solar.

Wow, that is quite a system, comparable to a house roof installation for off grid use. I note that the net cost after tax credits is $15,000. You can buy a lot of fuel to power your generator (which I suspect he has) for that money. But he is helping the environment so who am I to complain.
