Title: Carrying on top
Post by: dthogan on July 21, 2015, 05:32:13 PM
I have a 2010 Quicksilver 6 with the bigger Kumo tires outdoor/adventure option. I'd like to carry an 85lb 8' aluminum jon boat on top. I need to build some kind of elevated rails to keep it off the top of the quicksilver and keep it secure and of course not damage the top. Any ideas of something that may already be out there?  And no I'm nit going to have a motor on it just fyi, it will be just the jon boat only. I even thought about using memory foam under it and lashing it down with cargo straps but wondered if there was something more professional out there. Thanks

I have used foam blocks like these on the top of a pop-up: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_10?url=search-alias%3Doutdoor-recreation&field-keywords=canoe+foam+blocks&sprefix=canoe+foam%2Caps%2C195
