A Camplite came up on my to buy radar, and I'm wondering how a 2013 Livin Lite's 16' camper walls and roof were constructed. I see they are vacuum bonded meaning glued like everyone else, but what kind of glue? Indissoluble glue, or water soluble? Because I'm reading the wide spread delamination blister issue is caused by everyone using luan and epa mandated water soluble glue.. Among other factors like paper thin fiberglass exterior etc etc. Translated to.. "cheap"
I know camplite's exterior were still aluminum before 2016, but anyone know how thick? Some may say "just don't let it get wet".. But IMO, it's not a matter of if a trailer leaks, but matter of when.

The walls of the 2013 model are aluminum outside and Azdel inside (through some may have had aluminum inside too?) These materials are glued (and screwed in both hidden and exposed places) to 1 inch aluminum framing material that has 1" expanded foam insulation between the framing. The roof is the same, but with 2" expanded foam. It makes a nice wall and very solid roof. The floor is aluminum. No wood anywhere (except for some brands of doors that LL used), but no worries. I'm not familiar with the specifics of any glue used, but water soluble or not, that terminology would seem to apply to the product prior to final setting. Leaks need to be fixed for sure, because no one wants there stuff wet, but a 2013 Camplite 16 could go swimming and the basic trailer would be fine. Of course the appliances would have to be recycled. :o
in my view I would I that before I would by anything else new except mabye the new intech which would definitely be a lot more....they are practically bulletproof

Thanks, and that's what I wanted to hear.. No delamination if soaked.. But why did they install windows behind awnings? ::)
I'm torn on pursuing this camplite because I'd prefer a toyhauler. But no one makes a 7' wide narrow track toyhauler. The size of the 16DB is perfect for me, as the axle wheel spacing is the same width of my full size truck.
Is $14k a steep asking price for a clean two owner 2013 16DB?

Thanks, I see you own one.. Intech's are nice, but to wide and I don't want fenders. I want the narrow track (7' & wheel wells) the camplite offers. Then Id be tempted to hack a ramp door on the back which would require a model that had the bed in the back unlike a 16DB
yes I do and I couldn't be any happier. After almost three years it still looks and smells like new..the new intech sol is really cool but my wife will not own a wet bath.

VRV does, so did ATC so you would have to find one used, and HW motorhomes has a Livinlite 615 in stock, just have to look around to find one.
PPL motor homes in TX just had a 2015 14DBS listed for 15,995 that just sold.

Yes, VRV and ATC make 7' wide toyhaulers, but they use fenders outside the box making the trailer just as wide as a 8.5' wide. ::) Crappy design IMO but much easier/cheaper to build..
I want a 7' wide "narrow track" trailer with wheel wells inside it making the entire rig no wider than 7'

Check out the Microlite Vymeron, it is small but the wheels are flush with the body sides
