We apologize for the delay, but now that Paul has made this forum available, we'd like to post photos of BMFC, Townsend, TN, referenced on LLProboard.

There's also been some interest expressed in a LL Gathering in east TN.  This area of the Smokies is still in the foothills for those pulling larger units.  The fall season is beautiful and the folks up there sure do up the fall decorations.  Townsend is one doorway to the National Park and ski resort, Gatlinburg.  Townsend sits along a fun river that affords visitors tubing, fishing, a shady respite from hot temps and  many other activities.

Here's the balance of events for 2015:
July 4th Celebration & Fireworks; July 17,18 - Volkswagen Car Show; Sept. 3,4,5 - Ford Truck Show; September 25,26 - Fall Festival/Old Timers Days; Sept. 26,27 - Nawger Nob Craft Fair; Oct. 3,4 - Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers Festival; Nov. 7 - Quilter's Road Show; Dec. 6 - Townsend Christmas Parade (HEY, ya'll!....we could enter our LL trailers as "real hick floats"!  ;D(Note: To understand this, see Whoofit's entry on ProBoard's trip reports thread.)  I digress.

"Pickin' on the Porch is each Sat. night - May thru Oct. at 7pm at Big Meadow Family Campground (we gotta believe the pickin on the porch is referring to stringed instruments  :o)

Okay, enough chewin' the fat...time for some photos of BMFC for DJSamuel.  BTW, DJ, when are you going to be there in October?  Maybe we could crash your 35th wedding anniversary celebration with a  LL Gathering!  (Just kidding!!!  ;))

We will be there September 24th to October 7th. :) Thanks for the pictures!

We've been there during old timers days and that was really nice.  Amazing the people who would break out there fiddles and banjos and start playing music.  We will make it again this year too.

Of course, anybody is welcome to come, but we'll be off hiking most days.  ;D

Will be visiting the area in October, looking at NE to SE Tennessee land.  May relocate, will see.

We will be up there mid-August, but without the LL.  We have owned property in East TN for many years buying a mountaintop parcel back when it was dirt cheap...before deep pockets and tourists found it.  That was a long time ago, and therefore really don't know what property values are at this point in time.

Are you wanting city or solitude?  Home or investment property?  Knoxville is a nice city, as is Chattanooga, particularly if one must locate close to jobs.  We opted for the solace of the Smokies and built our cabin just a valley across from the National Park's boundary.  Because of work, we are there part-time, at best.... :'(  One half of us would leave FL in a heartbeat to live there full-time...if it were possible.  Maybe one day.

We LOVE TENNESSEE....but why leaving NC?  From what we've seen, it's beautiful there too.

Have fun hunting down your dream!!

Tennessee is tax friendlier & we want to be in the foothills. Not worried about driving to work. Checked out Copperhill, Mountain City, Johnson City, Roan Mountain, and Greeneville, TN areas so far. Not in a hurry while checking out eastern TN.  We love NC but live too far from the mountains. If we were closer to the mountains, probably would not relocate, but if we relocate, will go to TN.
