i have a QS 8.1.  a friend recommended a ceramic heater to take the edge off if it happens to get cool out..    anyone have a recommendation on what size would do the trick?

i won't be out in 30 degree weather (by choice anyway) but say in the mid 40's..

thanks in advance...

thanks everyone for all the help in my first thread...

today i drove to lancaster pa area to look at a 2010 QS 8.0.   i was on the fence about buying it. it needed a few things but was in decent shape i thought.  asking price was $3750 i know he would have come down some too... i  was gong to call the guy back about the 2015 unit i looked at the other day  to see if he would come down from the $6400 out the door price (also needing work) but before doing so i happened to walk past what i thought were 3 10.0 units.  then i looked and was like thats too short to be a 10.0.   it was in a lot better shape then any of the others there and turned out to be a 8.1.   i called the wife and talked to her about it and she thought the sizes would work out better for us.   so i got the sales man to open it up and i went over it.  looks good..  its a former rental like the others but is in pretty good shape i think..   ended up making a deal on it.  would only drop to $3700 ($4167 out the door) on it because he said it was rented a lot less then the 8.0 units.  said most preferred to have the same size beds on each end..    hopefully i did ok on it..

so i will pick it up on the 20th.    kinda excited..    going to have to figure out what supplies i'll have to bring camping now...

i guess my first question will be:    what do ya clean the canvass with?  this isn't horrible but has a few spots that need to be cleaned...    also is there anything you need to treat the canvass and cover with?  something like 303 Products Aerospace Protectant or anything?

here are a few crappy phone pics..

ok so i found a 2015 QS 8.0 at a dealer not all that far from me.    i looked at it today and have a few questions on what a good price for it would be...

its a basic 8.0 with a/c and an awning.,  i believe thats the only options it has...

it is raining out today so that was good..  there were no leaks.  the int looked decent.  needed some cleaning is all...

we noticed that there were a few snaps torn out of the canvass.   the table that clips on the outside was kinda busted up and missing the bottom support..  a couple of scuffs on the side under where the table would clip on and one dent in the rear panel above and centered between the tail lights.   not a huge dent or anything that is structural.  just cosmetic.   other then that it seemed ok...

it also had two Fan / Light units..   are they a standard thing or optional?

so the dealer says they will fix the snaps/canvass on the front and back of it and replace the outside table and support plus clean it up..

they will let it go for $6400 out the door (original price was 7400 and change out the door with nothing repaired)..  thats the trailer, the canvass fixed, the table replaced, set up fee (they go over the entire thing and make sure everything is working and things like that and demo it for me), tax, tags and doc fees..

is this a decent price?    is there anything else i need to look for?

down the road if i needed new canvass what does it cost for new canvass and where would you buy it?

do that make mattress covers for the stock mattresses?

i have two little Honda EU2000i 2000W Generators with a parallel kit that allows me to plug a 30amp rv style plug into it..  will they be enough to run the a/c?

thanks in advance for the help...

my names joe.  last year we bought a subaru outback..    i'm stuck only being able to tow 2700 pounds.     i have been looking around for a lighter weight trailer that will work for me and the family..  i've narrowed it down to the QS 8.0 or the SylvanSport GO.    there are things i really like about both of them but in the end it seems the QS is the way to go for us..   so i'm here to find out as much as i can before dropping the coin on one..
