Celebrate by going to a nice restaurant! That is what we do, especially on a travel day!

Thank you for the moral support. There are more medical tests coming this week. I will post when he has his surgery - in the off-topic category.

I haven't used his name because he doesn't participate on this board. From time to time, I read to him what people are saying, and occasionally relay his comments. He and I are both looking forward to the meetup in Maine, and everybody there will be introduced to him.

He really enjoyed the mini-rally at Fort Stevens, and he enjoyed meeting Mrs. Pin. I remember her first name, but she doesn't participate on this board, either...

There is a really nice COE campground just outside of East Moline, Fisherman's Corner. It is at the locks and you can watch the river traffic go through the locks. Next to the COE, is a county campground which is first come, so here are 2 other places to check out. Quad Cities is a great place to visit. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Unfortunately, my husband has been told that he needs surgery, so we had to cancel the trip we planned in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. Instead, we are camping in the area around Louisville while various doctors run tests and decide what to do.

I would have a difficult time judging the price of a used Camplite without seeing it. This is a model that is 5 years older than the 2017's that are on the market now. Being that it is pre-Thor, it should bring a premium price, due to the aluminum roof, floor and cabinets with the airplane-type latches and piano hinges. What other equipment did the previous owner throw in with it? Batteries, battery box, propane tank, for example? Wear, pre-Thor, and add-ons affect the price.

Hi Ammobob! I met you at Ft. Stevens. Hope all is well with construction of the new house. My husband and I bought a spot in an RV resort this winter that has a cabana and space for the RV alongside. We hired a contractor to fix it up for us, and the conversation kept going like this - as long as we are doing this, we might as well do that!

We now have a cabana with a bathroom and laundry closet with hot water on demand (!). Funpilot gave me that idea for the unlimited hot water. We have a patio in back, and a screened-in porch in front. Glamping now.

I was just thinking about some people who posted on the previous forum, some of whom I met in person, and they aren't here.

What has happened to Ammobob who went fishing with pinstriper?

What had happened to Shovelhead whom I met in South Carolina, had a knee replacement, and hasn't made it here to this forum?

Who else is missing?

Those new steps look good. Much easier in and out.

We are Wallydocking tonight. This is our 3rd night Wallydocking. We are on our way to Louisville from Florida. Tomorrow AM, my husband has a shopping list ready. Like Fast Eddie says, there's always a WalMart.

My husband likes to travel and be a tourist. So, we stay at RV resorts and parks. The more "resorty" it is, the more he likes it.

I enjoy the camping experience, which he does not. Usually it is too far from a restaurant for him. I try to include state parks and public-run parks in our travels. I would love to be boondocking someplace where I can't see any other people around, but it hasn't worked out yet.

So for us, the difference between boondocking and RV parks is - do you want the camping experience, or are you traveling as a tourist from RV resort to RV resort?

I spent my teenage years on the Jersey Shore. There are some nice little city-owned parks that are very reasonable.

For the National Parks, see if you are old enough for a Senior Pass. It has saved us more than what it costs, even though private concessionaires in the parks are not required to accept it.

Love the picture of the alligator! We will have to camp in Melbourne for a while this winter.
