The family is growing and the 13QBB start to be a tight fit for us. We ordered a 2018 21BHS in Indigo Blue since we have a blue truck! Ordered with the aluminum interior, power awning and fantastic fans.
Wonderful news! Great choice' it will fit nicely and be a great addition to your seasonal site.
Congrats Paul and Melanie!
Great move Paul! You are going to love it. Even though Thor owns them now and has changed a few things (some for the better), Livin Lite is still makes a tremendous trailer! We love our 21BHS and know that you will too! We wanted the aluminum cabinets too but when we ordered in the fall of 2015 they wouldn't give them to us at that time. Oh well, we still like it anyways!! Best wishes and enjoy the rest of your summer (and early fall) while you are waiting for it. Hopefully you'll be able to take it out and try it yet this season after you get it!
I hope you love yours as much as my family loves mine. They are in my opinion the best compromise between weight, design, durability, and function. I tell my buddies that as an engineer if I were to design and build a camper, I couldn't do a better job. Congrats!!!
I have been considering getting a Friction Sway Control but I can't really find one that you don't need to drill in the frame. Anyone have a suggestion?
I feel the same way, I settled for the "Anderson Hitch", I wasn't too concerned with the weight distribution aspect, (I tow with a Chevy Duramax). I towed with and with out and IMO towing with a sway bar definitely makes a difference. There are members who don't use anything and are happy with the way their TV / TT tows, try both ways and see how you feel.
I have a Husky TS Centerline. Works great with zero complaints. No holes required. I did put a piece of rubber between the steel and aluminum to combat corrosion. I had to notch my propane tank cover to fit over the brackets, but it was really simple.

Paul - We use the Andersen WDH with our 21BHS and it works great. It achieves the anti-sway through use of a friction cone. It works very well, is easy to use, and doesn't put any holes in your trailer frame. Also, the hitch it comes with has an adjustable drop, so you can easily modify it to give you a level pull no matter what the type of tow vehicle. I highly recommend it!
I had used the EQUALIZER for 16 years on my old trailer. We bought the Camp Lite 21RBS and just transferred it over. NO DRILLING and rated by Trailer Life best hitch for several years now. I love ours.
Congrats Paul. We went through the same thing. Upgraded to a 21 BHS from a 16DB. Those young ones grow up fast don't they!

Congratulations Paul!
We've been using the Andersen hitch for 4 years now and it has worked great. No complaints whatsoever. Hope you enjoy your 21BHS as much as we've enjoyed ours.
I previously towed a 16ft single axle TT with a VW Touareg and used a sway bar regularly, and I'm pretty convinced it saved my bacon once in Glenwood Canyon when a big wind gust hit. That said, I decided at first to not run one on our 21BHS with the warnings about the aluminum frame. My TV now is a Ram 1500, and this camper pulls so much better with the double axles and balance of the trailer that I see no reason to use a sway bar. We've towed it all over the Colorado mountains, and out to Wisconsin and back this summer in all sorts of quartering and cross winds with no problem what so ever.
Here is my trailer beeing built! Can't wait to see the final result!
Cool! That's awesome they are sending updates and pictures.
You're a bad influence Paul. I've always wanted to "upgrade" to a 21 with bunks. You got me looking at trailers again. ;)

Haha once you see it completed it will be harder to resist!
Keep the updates coming and let us know your thoughts (good/bad) when you receive it and had a chance to go through.
I'm interested in fit/finish and durability.

Great to have construction photos!
Almost Done! Only a overhead kitchen cabinet door missing!
Wow! Beautiful! Are they sending you pictures or are you staying near the factory and visiting periodically?
WOW! That is really nice! Guess I'll have to come back to Shediac to get a tour.

Yes for sure! Hopefully we can do a meetup next summer!
This really looks great! First time I've waivered on my 2013 21BHS. I always look at other trailers and think how much better I like my camper. Yours really looks nice. Enjoy the camper. We love ours, especially the layout.

Thank you! I really like the layout too! It's hard to find trailer of that size with Bunk Bed!
Very nice Paul! I especially like the painted aluminum paneling on the doors. Throw back to the old days.
The best outside color and graphic combination ever!

I believe that's our 16TBS parked next to yours in the LL yard. Also waiting for doors.

Oh really you are also missing a cabinet door? Do they have a shortage of them? Did you order with the Aluminum doors?
Yes, ordered aluminum package. Ours also came off the line last week. Told there's a vendor issue (shortage?) with 28-1/2" by 12-1/2" doors. This is our second try - first order came without aluminum and off road packages. Hope it's not too long. Fingers crossed. I'll let you know if I hear anything. 🤞

Thank you for letting me know! Mine came off the line on Tuesday. I hope it doesn't take too much time because I have to bring it to the storage facility on October 28. If you add the time the dealer will take to prepare it and install my fantastic fans and the dealer is 10 hour away so it is going to be tight for me !
I've been researching travel trailers and have just about settled on the 21rbs as best fitting my needs. I also would like to special order mine. Could you tell me what is a good negotiating price for ordering a base model?

There are lots of variables in RV pricing, including geographic location, season, local dealer inventory, popularity of model, etc. For example, There is new 21BHS for sale in Illinois right now for $27,000. If you were to special order rather than buy off a lot, you should expect to pay more, plus the options you want. The MSRP of RVs is a mythical beast, so look at dealer inventory in your part of the country to see actual offering prices for units on the lot.
Edit: I see you're looking for a 21RBS. The same dealer, Sunny Island RV in Illinois, has a few of those for you to ground truth prices on.

Hi KathiA, thank you for the update. My dealer also told me that it was invoiced and was going to be released shortly. The dealer is going to tell me when they talk with their transporter when it will arrive in Quebec Canada. Not sure when I will be able to pickup the trailer because it need to be delivered in Quebec first then they have to install fantastic fans and vent cover for me. Also I have to drive 10 hour from New Brunswick to get there. I am ready to leave to the dealer in a short notice whenever it's ready to be picked up because I have to bring it to the storage facility on October 28. Hopefully I get it on time. We might never meet but our Camplite did as they were next to each other on their lot! :)
I received my 21BHS!

Hi Merlin it's a decorative frame with blue led in it
Paul,
THAT is a blue camper! And YOURS is a blue truck! That's my favorite truck color but my wife said no. So I got a hum drum everyday silver gray truck and a dark gray LL. Enjoy your new 21. It should be easy to spot in a campground. Are you keeping the CL11 at your seasonal site or is it being replaced?

I will now use the 21BHS at the seasonal site!
Congratulations Paul! I really like what they have done inside! It looks great. Love the Blue!
Remember camping season here in Florida has just begun, snowbirds are arriving daily as the parks and sites fill up for the season.
Florida in summer - Campers go NORTH. Florida winters half of Canada, most of Michigan and I swear all of New York heads to Florida for CAMPING Season.
Paul, does yours have the underneath enclosed also? And does it have the off-road package? It looks higher off the ground than mine (which is probably the first or second "2018" trailer they built this year).
And, can you put stuff under the dinette seats? I thought I saw that in one of the pics but not sure. :)
And finally... would you be interested in trading for an earlier 2018 21BHS (Silver)? The earlier 2018 models have more aluminum (I'm pretty sure) and other features you would like.
Man... I could really use the off-road package and underneath enclosure for 4 season camping!

Hi tbrady! Nice try on the trade thing lol! It doesn't have the off road package, maybe it's higher now?
I can put stuff under the dinette, you can lift the sofa cushions and put stuff under them, they just removed the doors. I will take better pictures of that next year
I also have the underneath enclosure. I will also take more picture of that when I get my trailer out of storage.
